Has anyone been to Forks, WA where Twilight is supposed to take place?  

I went to Forks when I was quite young, about 12. It was part of a camping holiday my parents took me and my sister on, we stayed there one night in our campervan. I remember is it poured with rain and we stayed in all night playing monopoly. In the morning we drove through the small town and had an "american breakfast" (we are British) and I remember that the people on the table next to us were really fat, and I was trying to work out how they could eat the massive amount of food they had ordered! (I was 12 remember) We then walked to have a look at the shops and I remember there being a large traffic light crossroads for absolutely no traffic at all. (I think we were there on a Sunday though) The most important part of this story though is, I bought a new beanie baby (they were so the range at the time!) and it was the one which was born on my birthday. So that's my quite detailed memory of Forks, I bet it's quite different now. I really want to read the book. My mum has just bought it so when I go home at Xmas I might borrow it off her!

I live in WA too (about an hour north of seattle) and have never been there. I don't really see myself ever going to Forks just because there is Nothing there. Yeah, cool that's where the author based the story, but I don't really think that's any reason to visit. I don't know, maybe I just feel this way because I see the green nature and rain described in the story everyday.
