How Christians treat gay people, It's just wrong.....

Hi EAStanley, I don't get it either. We are all people and should be treated with kindness, treated how we would want to be treated.......

Who are you to "Approve, or dissapprove" Of anyone's Lifestyle? This is what I'm talking about.......

Just like you disapprove of my attitude and those other people in the church, I am no less than you, and also capable of chosing for myself what I like and dislike. Maybe it's not the best choice of words, but what it means is that I disapprove in the sense that I would not imitate that lifestyle anymore than I would imitate the people in that church that acted that way. Does it bother you with regard to your cousin but not your judgment and mine toward those people? Then you're being quite selective, don't you think?

Look, what I am trying to say is that they acted wrong by treating him this way. And in my title I did not say ALL Christians, but now that I think of it, I didn't say SOME Christians either, but I can honestly say that Every Christian I have met so far, is the same way as this certian church.

I'm very sorry about that, but I can't apologize for anyone else's behavior OR mine. I just dislike generalizations. Ooooops, I guess I'm being biased?

IMHO, people who acted that way towards your cousin were not being very "Christian" at all. Jesus doesn't teach us to be judgmental and rude, we are supposed to be compassionate. Only God has the final say in so far as passing judgment on people, live and let live as long as they aren't hurting anybody I say.

I KNOW you do not think ALL people in a group are one way or another, you are a nice person and I know it. I agree that some people will give you grief over the title, but if they read the responses they will KNOW as I do that you're not making generalizations. The people who were mean to your cousin should get thrown out of the "Christians club" as they behaved in a most un-Christan way. I am Catholic, which is a bit different from other sects, people think we're strict but I can tell you that I've never seen anyoen try to discourage a person form going to mass for any reason and I've never seen anyone make judgments on those who show up either. I know some Christian religions will even judge you on what you wear to church, but my religion does not as we are the "working class" church or the church of the poor. I've shown up for mass in ripped jeans and muddy shoes and people acted as happy to see me fill the pew as they would be if I'd shown up in a ballroom gown and easter bonnet. LOL
My parents always taught me to accept people based on their CHARACTER, how they treat others is more of an indicator to a person's "goodness" than their clothes or sexual orientation.

I found a Dear Abby quote to share with Flowerchilde below, but here's a good one that kind of relates to what I'm trying to say here:

Come on lets not be naive everyone who claims to be a Christain is not a Christain... and not all Christains are righteous people, their are false pretenders, wolves in sheeps clothing, im sure your herd that expression and there are some really mean people out there and lets take for consideration its a small town and in VA... I beleive it happen
