It's my fault.. my poor planning..lol

I don't normally try to surprise people. As far as the baby shower goes, I think it is probably best to wait until after the baby is born now. Knowing the luck your friend is having you will go into labor during the party if she does it before.

LOL... That is funny. I have never had a plan go like that before LOL. I would probably do the same thing you done though LOL.

It is always nice to have friends who want to do something nice for you. Might have to settle for after the baby is born so they can all see him and ohh and ahhh over him. I did try to surprise my mom with a mothers day cookout and we invited a whole bunch of other people and their mothers and my mom promised she would swing by and see me on Mothers Day and pick up her gift...Well she never showed so her I was hosting a big Mothers Day cookout for my mom and she didn't even show up. My brother whom I asked to come as well said he couldn't because he had to do something but would stop by later if he could..well I had told him not to tell mom about the cookout so he didn't. So here I was waiting and waiting and she never showed. Later I found out that my brother took his three kids over their ages 9-6-1 so she didn't come. He thought that she would bring them with her when she came but she had decided not to come because of the kids. She didn't have a phone so I couldn't call. I was so disappointed. To make up for it I paid $60 so she could have her favorite meal.

I'm usually very good at surprises, although I've never pulled off anything as big as a baby shower. I remember with my first child, I was going to throw my own babyshower, but had to cancel at the last minute due to lack of funds. So my best friend picked me up and said she'd take me to lunch and shopping for some baby clothes. So we go to this restauarant on the other side of town, and there waiting were all the people I'd invited to my shower!

I think it is a sweet thought and you are being very good-humored and flexible about it. Kudos to you. Of course, your husband didn't help much so you can blame it on him.
