Are "thank you"s allowed?

You do get paid for making comments to your discussion -- or comments to anyone else's discussion.
But they don't want people to just go thru a list of responses and write thank you, 25 times, and nothing more. It says that will be deleted, so maybe doing that won't get any earning.
But if you have something to say, to keep the discussion going or enhance it, a comment on what someone's response was, that is allowed, and paid. It's like someone who answers a discussion with only "I don't know", over and over, and nothing more.
That is discouraged by mylot, too, because they want good quality discussions and they want us to keep the discussions going with a lively banter, not let them fall flat with just thank yous and I don't knows.

I also make it a habit to respond to people who have responded to my discussions. I think this way they will respond to me again. Also, I always try to respond to them even if it is short and to say thank you.

That is what I needed to know. I never get over 20 responses so I do not know if I would respond to all of them. Happy mylotting to you also.

Yes, I agree it is out of politeness than it is out of wanting to post again or earn money. I will have to try that more often as I think it is a great idea and I do not mean to sound sarcastic. I think it could make a real difference if the responder feels appreciated. I really will try to do that more often. Thank you for the awesome suggestion and have a great day!

Actually, "You're welcome" is also unecessary action to be made in postings like this:) but having a really great compliment and a very polite thank you message from you, I think I should say thanks and you're welcome. Yes, I agree. I have always said "thank you" and will continue to do so no matter what.

So that is where I read it! No wonder it came to my mind!

I will have to try and do what you have advised more often. I think your advice is great and hope many people read it and earn from this. I think your advice is very helpful and true but many people do not know about this.

I am glad to here that someone finally agrees with me when I say the payment system here is complex and unclear and NOT a cent per response because I have been reading a lot of that stuff lately. Thank you for confirming my thoughts as I will try and go back to those discussions and link it to this one.

I agree that if you do not reply to responses to your discussions, it defeats the whole purpose of mylot. I used to not do this but recently have been doing this more and more and I think it is better for me. I do not know if it increased my earnings but I have been earning a lot lately.

I also agree that more activity means more exposure which means more responses and possibly better earnings. I started to reply to responses after some mylotters told me that it would put my discussion at the top of my friends' "Discussions my friends started" sortie. Thanks for your suggestions and ideas and I will try to do what you do more.

I am happy to see that you have already worked out how conducting yourself this way can be of benefit. As you have said yourself, your earnings HAVE improved as a result, which to me is undeniable proof that quality over quantity reigns supreme all day long! I promise you that you will increasingly find your earnings and overall time on mylot becoming more and more productive if you continue to do what you are doing.

That is some good advice and a true statement. "You earn more when you know what you are doing." I like that. I think I will make it my motto on my profile page! Thanks a lot for sharing this very useful information with me.

Yes, thank you for clarifying the rules. Everything on mylot seems to be very vague. For example, they state no advertising which most people take for referral links but it really means no type of advertising.

I agree with you and think we should always show our gratitude and be polite. That is a good way to improve your earnings, I think. I will also try to keep my posts at least 2 lines. Thanks for the advice!

Not being paid for saying "thank you" is my conclusion from this discussion. I also agree with you that no one really knows how mylot calculates your earnings. I feel like mylotters deserve the thank you because they are so nice and helpful. So thank you for responding and sharing your thoughts with us!

I think many members have realized this or just do not know it but still decide to say thanks. For example, I am currently replying back to all the responses I got on my discussion like this one. I agree thanks should not disappear and hope mylot will always stay so polite. Thanks for responding.
