Are "thank you"s allowed? |
|
myLot is a very nice and usually also a very polite community. I have seen many people thanking other mylotters for responding to their discussions. I have also done this. However, I read somewhere that we would not get paid for this. Is this true? Is saying "thank you" not allowed? Tell us your experience with saying "thanks."

Most people still say their "thank you's" anyhow out of respect and politness, I know I do

thedogshrink (685) | 1 year ago | You do get paid for making comments to your discussion -- or comments to anyone else's discussion. But they don't want people to just go thru a list of responses and write thank you, 25 times, and nothing more. It says that will be deleted, so maybe doing that won't get any earning. But if you have something to say, to keep the discussion going or enhance it, a comment on what someone's response was, that is allowed, and paid. It's like someone who answers a discussion with only "I don't know", over and over, and nothing more. That is discouraged by mylot, too, because they want good quality discussions and they want us to keep the discussions going with a lively banter , not let them fall flat with just thank yous and I don't knows.

4. klaudine (2181) | 1 year ago | It is not that you are not allowed to say thank you to people. It is a part of politeness, especially when someone responded to your discussion. What is not allowed is the one line post, which is not paid, when you just say thanks meaninglessly. Why don't you try to say something like: "I think it is indeed a good idea. I would try that, thank you. You're really helping. Happy myLotting" not only that it would be friendlier, but I think the responder would feel more appreciated knowing that you have more positive feedback than just a line of thank you

klaudine (2181) | 1 year ago | Actually, "You're welcome" is also unecessary action to be made in postings like this:) but having a really great compliment and a very polite thank you message from you, I think I should say thanks and you're welcome. Now I feel really appreciated by you're really reading and responding to my response:). Have a nice day, and happy MyLotting:)

6. paid2write (4134) | 1 year ago | If you read the guidelines you will see that posting "thank you for your response" each time will not earn you any money, but you can do it if you want to.
The way to increase the value of your discussion is to comment on responses, say why you like what the person has said, whether you think they have made a good point, if they made you laugh or if you disagree but you value their opinion.
Commenting in this way will increase earnings from your discussions, but that does not mean you are paid for each comment you make. The guidelines make it clear the payment system is very complex and there is no way of knowing how it works.

7. James72 (6960) | 1 year ago | Saying "Thank you" alone is not aloowed under the guidleines, no. But I personally do say thank you to each and every person that responds to my discussions and will continue to do so. The difference though is that I don't just say these words alone. I will acknowledge what they have said, make my own comments in regards to what they have said; and THEN say thanks. Is this site not all about engaging each other? By doing this, we have a good chance of having even further exchanges between us and the person who responded and that's what it's all about!
Whether we earn for that or not is neither here nor there for me and it is all about showing gratitiude and creating further activity within my discussion. The more activity I generate, then the more exposure my discussion will get! Anyone that posts discussions and NEVER replies to anyone is not really embracing the essence of what mylot is about as far as I am concerned and they are only after quantity and not quality. The interesting reality though is that they will actually earn LESS by being this way! Quality and effort will always earn more than just playing the numbers game.

8. jewilim (769) | 1 year ago | Its really not allowed if you would only be replying with "thank you", I think that is what the rules meant. Its really hard not to thank people but we have to do it to show our gratitude and that we appreciate their response. When i reply to a commen i always thank the person because it is my way of showing gratitude. But i have never replies with only a thank you in my post because i always see to it that i make posts not less than 2 lines at least. :)

"thank you" in most of mylotter's posts are not for their paid response because no one here is sure of if our posts are being paid for. what i mean is no body among us is sure that our posts paid more rather than starting a discussion. the thank you here is just a way of appreciating other mylotters for starting a very interesting topic like you.
be blessed

snam23 (834) | 1 year ago | I think many members have realized this or just do not know it but still decide to say thanks. For example, I am currently replying back to all the responses I got on my discussion like this one. I agree thanks should not disappear and hope mylot will always stay so polite. Thanks for responding.
