dramatic change

WOW james, you shaved your head...now that's brave, i got asked once to do it for charity, but i really couldn't, so i went on a 15k marathon instead, i love my hair and would feel lost without it...a bit samson and delilah if you like...lol....i have saved over £1,400.00 since june and that's by just putting the amount of a packet of smokes in my jar a few times per week, so when i craved, i filled my jar and went for a walk or a bike ride to take my mind off of it, i was shocked when i counted it all...so now not only do i have a new look, but i can get some nice new clothes to go with it, i deserve this treat because i have not smoked since June, and although i did gain some poundage, i still feel great and i can breathe again...i feel like a new woman today...thankyou...

That's a LOT of money! I wish I had your discipline tatty as I am still a smoker unfortunately. I don't even want to think about how much I have spent over the years. Anyways, once again, good for you and keep riding that high for all it's worth!

thankyou james, well i know for sure that smoking is an expensive way to die..sounds harsh, but true, i am glad i managed to do it, plus all that money wasted on filling my lungs with poison is a waste, imagine how much i would have now if i had have quitted when i was first introduced to smoking, i was 13 then, this time i had to quit, i had no choice because i was getting smoke related illesses ALOT and couldn't get breathe. but 5 months later i feel new again...one day hopefully you'll quit, and if you decide to, then i am here to encourage you....that's what friends are for....right?

That has tripped a memory,I have hazle hair down to the middle of my back and it was thick,amazing hair, my mum baby sat my son and I was due to have my second child and decided to go for a trim,whilst there at the hairdresser I had a change of heart,I returned to my mother with the shortest bob you have ever seen and my poor mother cryed and nearly passed out with shock.My husband walked past and did not even notice.

i guess whan your used to having long hair at times it is a bit of a shocker when it all comes off, i used to have very short hair in the 80's, (it ws all in back then) after i had my boys i decided to grow it long, it took about 3 years to get down to my back, then another 2 for my waist length, then it all dried up with the hot weather and i asked the girl to remove the split ends and she hacked if off right up to my shoulders, i cried my eyes out, but since then it's gone nice and long again...i am loving this new style and colour, i think i'll keep it like this from now on, my other style and colour was nice but old, so it's about time i had a change

thankyou suzzy, i am glad i gave up coz i saved alot since june, so this new look is well deserved, i love this blonde colour and i think i will keep it like this for a long time, my confidence has gone up enourmously and i feel great, now i am going to get some new clothes as an extra treat and maybe buy myself a new phone too....you are right though, it does give you a boost doesn't it? i'm happy with my new look, can't wait to see what mister tatty thinks...he likes blondes...

lol, i will get a pic once i have my face on mental...right now i don't have any on, so once i am titivated i will get a pic in here....your hair was longer than mine, mine was pretty much down to my waist but now quite, it is long now but not as long as it used to be, i don't like my hair short, i look like a boy, so when i had my kids i grew it, you made a huge change there cutting off all of your lovely hair, i would have been gutted, my hair isn't carrot red, it's about the same colour as yours, strawberry blonde, but i love this new look, you can still see tinges of red in it, but i think that's just the pigment of my old hair that has not taken, but both go great together, it gives it that natural look instead of looking like a girlie peroxide blonde, not that i have anything against peroxide blondes, but that would be too light for me...

oh i do have them tiny gray bits too but not alot, if i get more then i think i'll go ash blonde to make it match....

I went to my hairdresser once to have it trimmed. I told him that I was thinking about changing the color and he flipped out! He said, "People PAY to have the color you have naturally!" I said yeah, but they didn't grow up with it and spend enough time to get sick of it. LOL

I'm glad you still have bits of red showing, though. You're right, it does give it a more natural look. Hair is never one shade naturally. I can't wait to see the pic!!!

yes i am happy that he left some of my own colour in, but like i said, i am getting some gray now, so when it comes again, i will have some ash blonde put in until it's all that colour...lol.....

do you know what Gem, since i have got this colour done, i feel my confidence shoot through the roof, i LOVE it, in a few more weeks i am getting some silver streaks to boost it up a bit, i feel like a different woman today and my hairdresser did a great job, i even gave him a tenner tip which he was surprised about, well it is coming to christmas so he deserves a bit extra...purple sounds great Gem, i would love to see how that looks,

When you feel good about something then it does do wonders for a persons confidence and that is good! When I do my hair I will take a photo, it will be before christmas I should think.

thankyou kat, it took some hard work quitting but i did it after all them years of filling my lungs with smoke, i know for certain that i won't be smoking again, i still have pangs but i ignore them now....i am happy with my new hair, i have to show it off to someone don't i...maybe i will go for a meal with my honey tomorrow and wear my new outfit, i just feel like showing myself off for a change...i have a friend who has jet black hair that it looks blue sometimes, she has very long hair and it always looks shiny and healthy, i don't think i could go dark, i have really pair skin so it would wash my complexion out...

i think red is lovely tamara but i just felt like a change, i will put a pic up a soon as i can, i need someone to take the pic for me, also i wanna put some slap pn first....lol...i love it when you just get your hair washed in the salon and it's all slinky and sift and shiny, this is what mine is like right now and i love it...if i was a drinker i would go out with the girls and show off, but i am not a drinker apart from the odd glass of wine every now and then....maybe mister tatty will take me out for a meal so i can wear my new clothes too...i just feel like showing off...lol...

drannhh, i love the pixie look, it is the in thing right now, i am getting gray right now, but not alot, so what i may do is go lighter as my hair grays, it's great to know that you still have most or all of your natural haor colour, i still had mine until today apart from tham little gray spider legs, but i am so happy with my new look it's like you said about cutting all your hair off, it's letting go of the past, i have had a pretty bad year this year so i am happy to let go of a few things, it's getting to the end of 2008, so 2009 can and will be better for me, not coz i have a new hair do, but because i have let go of smoking too, i feel much healthier and i am ready to start 2009 with a big bang...

i see a few people want purple this year, i love that colour and i bet it would look great on you...thankyou elic...

Well, the cool thing is that most people have to bleach the color outta their hair first before putting the bright colors in, I don't have to do that now.

that's great because at lest you won't get damaged hair from the bleach...

well i could have carried on smoking and stayed unhealthy, my lungs are 100% better than they were 5 months ago, so i am glad i quit, it took some tears and determination but i did it, plus i wanted to see how much i could save just to see how much money i was wasting, and look at the amount, i couldn't believe it when i counted it, i didn't think there was that much in my jar, so imagine if i had have saved it for a whole year, i could have doubled it, it takes alot of courage to cut very long hair abbey, i had mine chopped off years ago and i cried for ages, i hated my short hair, but it's nice and long again now, i will get a pic up once i get dollied up to go somewhere, so watch this space...

hi opal, have you tried using frizeze on your hair when you dry it, my hair went frizzy when i was drying and using straighteners on it, also i know someone who has the same prob;em as you, i mean colour, try one of them ones you get from a chemist or a department shop, like nice n easy, you can get a warm brown which will make your hair go a bit lighter, i remember using a black dye once when i was going to a fancy dress party as morticia and i got a dye instead of a rinse, it dyed my hair jet black and it looked awful, so i bought a warm brown colour which contained a little bit of peroxide and it worked, then i gradually went back to my natural colour, it only took 3 go's and it was back to the colour i was at in te first place, so maybe try a home kit and have someone do it for you, it's pretty easy to use and the do work of you apply it right, you just leave it on for 30 minutes and it's done...

also a really good conditioner will help the frizz in your hair, i use pantene for damaged hair because it;s thick and concentrated, i left it on for about 10 minutes then rinsed it off, after that i dried it with the frizese and used straighteners on it and it was perfect, it sounds like your hair just needs some deep conditioning, so maybe this is what it needs.....
