When was the last time you were loved by mail? |
|
I received a postcard in the mail yesterday. Not only did I receive a postcard, I received a postcard from two different people who live in two different countries! Two people were thinking of me, and cared enough to send me a postcard to tell me so. I can't remember the last time I received a postcard. Frankly, I am trying to remember if I have EVER received a postcard before.
When was the last time you received something in the mail that proved someone was thinking about you? Something where there was no prior discussion about someone sending something to you - something that came as a complete surprise? Something that made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, even though it was only 20 degrees outside?

1. GardenGerty (20287) | 1 year ago | I think that it is really neat that you received two postcard greetings in one day. It motivates me to perhaps send something to a friend myself. I do not remember the last time I received a no occasion greeting in the mail.

2. mindym (411) | 1 year ago | I love receiving mail that is not bills:) I think the last time I received something in the mail that was not a bill was about a month ago. It was a photo card of a friend's family with them standing in front of their new house. Their new address was listed on the card as well. I know I was not the only one that received their new address, but it was still fun to get something other than bills in the mail.

3. drannhh (7437) | 1 year ago | As a matter of fact, an aunt recently sent me a couple of postcards that were sort of like family antiques sent from one long deceased relative to another, and passed down from one aunt to another. The small amount of postage used to send those a long time ago was perhaps the most astonishing thing. But what was written on them as messages also brought these people back to life for a moment. Before you were born I used to get and give postcards with some frequency, but now with digital cameras and e-mail available to almost everyone, it is a different matter.

Hmmmmm (1687) | 1 year ago | How very very sweet and thoughtful! I wouldn't be surprised if reading the messages brought tears to your eyes.
Before I was born. Very funny.

5. callarse1 (2905) | 1 year ago | Yes, it has happened before. Once before with Aussie pen pals, she sent my post cards when she was going on her world vacation. And my other was from my Seychelles pen pal. She is always sending wonderful surprises to me. They DID make me feel all special & they were very unexpected.

Hmmmmm (1687) | 1 year ago | Hi Pablo!
It's like a small piece of paper turns into a really big hug, isn't it?
Sounds like you have some friends in some pretty far away locations. Very exciting! I haven't had a pen pal since I was in junior high school, and even then, she only lived a few hundred miles away.

callarse1 (2905) | 1 year ago | However, no e-card can replace the love & friendship of someone sending it out via mail. Plus, I can't find anything that replaces those beautiful Seychelles postcards.

8. ebsharer (2474) | 1 year ago | I received a few cards for my birthday but thats the last time I got anything. I don't ever remember getting some thing "just because".
When ever I go on vacation I send my brother a post card and if for some reason my kids aren't with me they get postcards too.
- Its neat that you got two postcards from 2 different countries in one day!!! You are VERY thought of!!
