Craig, Daniel Craig  

When Daniel Craig was announced to take over the role of James Bond, I was livid. I didn't think he fit the part. He was this big lumbering, clumsy thing that could never be the suave and elegant Mr. Bond.
After watching the first movie "Casino Royal," all my worst fears confirmed about Mr. Craig. Roll on the second film. Craig didn't fit the role I wanted him to fit at no point did I forget that he was Graig, and lose my self in his bond which I thought, at the time was a bad thing. Add to that the lack Q and his wonderful devices, the fact he doesnt give a f*ck whether his martini is shaken or stirred and the fact he at no point ever says bond, james bond. And you've got a film and an actor that has ruined the franchise.
Or soo I thought. Roll on the second film. I went to see quantum of solace this weekend. This time little less hot headed than when i went to see the first and I finally got it. You're not supposed to see some archetypal bond you're supposed to see the "actor does bond", you're supposed to see dolton and connery and brosnan and moore, and the different and unique ways they take on the role. The fact that all i can see is craig is actually a good thing,, it means hes making his stamp on the thing. As for the other stuff. The martini thing and the Bond, james bond thing I can understand, if their following the begginings of this guy then of course he hasnt developed the suaveness to do and say those things yet, when he does it will be monumental though. You'll know bond has finally come into his own. What the film does well though which the others didnt is continuity, theres no discrete end to the villian, no you only foil one of their plans and move on to find and foil the next. well done! stroke of genius.
