What do you feel about people talking loudly in their mobile phones in public?

I do find it annoying when people talk loudly into their cell phones. As a waitress, when I approach a table to take their order and the customer is on their cell phone and I'm being ignored, I will then walk away and they can now wait for me! The other day, I was standing in line up at Tim Hortons and the cashier called for the next customer.....the customer was busy talking on her cell phone and continued talking as she approached the cashier. She continued talking and the cashier is saying "Can I help you?" and the customer continued talking on her cell phone! The cashier then called for the next customer in line! I don't blame her....it is annoying!

It irritates me when people talk loudly on their phone, because they are desturbig other people, which I think is very rude.

I get annoyed when people talk loudly in public whether they're on a phone or not. I feel that they're trying to call attention to themselves

I don't mind. Mobilephones can be a pain sometimes, with bad signals or reception, we tend to say things outloud, hoping your receiver can hear you. I hate to shout nor i am a loud talker, but if i am in a public noisy place, or on travel, It has always one of my rules to never answer calls when i am outside. i know id waste my breath if i am in a place where its impossible to talk on the phone. If its something emergency, I have to used the text features. The noise of the bus engine and the streets can be really distracting.

Yeah I know what you mean. It's aggravating as all get out. But you know what if they don't want us to hear then maybe they should talk softer or go some place private. I stare at them so they know I'm listening.

About the only people I hear talking on a mobile phone is my sister or her daughter. They are usually talking to each other and tell us what the other said after they're finished. As far as people outside the family, I or they are never standing still long enough to hear what's being said.

I think it is quite rude but I must say i do like to listen to what they are saying as some times they forget that they can be heard and do say some very private stuff

I do not have a great impression when I find people talking loudly in their mobile phones in public places. It looks so funny, and it is very difficult to ignore the exchange of words. I somehow tend to overhear discussions going on over phone, sorry I must be, but that's quite natural.
Our family physician once told me that he founds it surprising and very annoying when patients sitting at his chamber starts talking over mobile. It breaks his attention and he also tends to listed to the talks. I believe it is quite natural human behavior.
But at the same time sometimes we all need to do that particularly when the ambient noise level is too high, or the receiver of the calls lodge a complaint that they could not hear me. Under those circumstances I have no option but to speak louder. And I believe at times someone might be compelled to talk louder.
Anyway, as I have already told - whatever the case may be - you are never going to know whether it is a habit, or a compulsion - but listening to loud talks in mobile phone has always been very much irritating.

Depending on the place you are at is wether it annoys me or its amusing. If the person is talking loud enough for everyone to hear I don't see nothing wrong with over listening. If they didn't want you to hear they should talk quieter....yes some conversations are amusing.

I feel a little upset with people talking loudly especially inside a van.As if he/she wants all of the people to know that he/she's got a cell phone.There is nothing wrong to answer phone calls in public as long as they are not disturbing others with their loud conversations.When this happens I always feel yawning.I want to sleep
