Alanis a largely under-rated singer and songwriter!

I look today at the people who are popular and selling well,all the pop singers today,the Britney Spears,Mandy Moores,Jessica Simpson,you name them and none of them have the presence,personality nor talent of Alanis Morissette.In fact you could put all of them together and they would still fall way short of Alanis.In my view Alanis is the female pop/rock singer of the century.She is superior to any of the current singers in any area you choose, her voice is unique and she sings with a passion that come from the fact that she writes all her material and usually from a deep personal place.Alanis uses words in her song that I hev never heard before or even knew could be used and sound so cool.
The only album that I think she got full credit for was Jagged Little Pill,which launched her on the world scene as an accomplished singer and songwriter and went on rightly to sell over 40 million worldwide.The songs were so well crafted to show her depth and abilities that it could be termed a perfect album expressing every emotion possible from angst to unrequieted love.The next album though was not so good but only because this time she failed to meet the high standards she had set with previous album.Any other artiste would have considered this a masterpiece.Granted she erred when she poised nude for the album cover,an error it seemed they would never forgiveher for as the album only sold 8 million,still commendable but once again thi sis Alanis.Subsequent efforts would suffer similarly despite being superbly crafted.She even started to produce her own album and incorporate influences from different genres but to no avail,album sales slumped.

It pains my heart to know the currrent crop of pop singers who cant sing or write heir lives are reaping rich rewards while Alanis a true gem languishes .This is a travesty to good music and perhaps the greatest injustice ever committed in the music fraternityStop chastising Alanis,the only sin she committed is making good music,GO OUT AND BUY ALL HER ALBUMS,YOU WILL BE RICHLY REWARDED WITH GOOD MUSIC FOR A CHANGE!!
