How many of you shop on black friday? | | How many of you guys shop on black friday? And if you do are the deals so good that you have to get to the stores at 3am in the morning. Are there really good bargains out there that are worth going to the mall before the sun comes up? I just heard on the radio that some guys waited 3hrs in front of Best Buy just to get a gps system for $60 off. It took them a total of 6 minutes to go in and get out. They waited 3hrs for 6 minutes. I personaly don't need anything, and I've been in the habit of not doing any spending unless I really need to. I don't feel the need to run out to the stores at 2am and spend money just because there's a sale going on. Plus I don't wanna be around a crowd full of annoying people. I can see how it can be a good idea for getting your christmas shopping done if you have a bunch of people to shop for. So what do people do? Are you spending money just because there are sales going on, or are you shopping for things that you really need and hope to find good deals on those items? For me it doesn't make sense to go shopping and blow my money just because there's a sale going on. But what about you guys?

I don't buy JUST becuase things are on sale. Today I bought a camera and yes it was worth getting up at 5am for. It was originally $149.95 and on sale for $89.00.
Waiting for 3 hours at best buy wasn't bad. I drove by last night at about 9pm and there was already people camped out waiting!! The news was there too along with a local police officer. Best buy hired the police this year because last year there were some problems.
There are 2 places I refuse to go to on black friday - Best buy and Wal mart. Other then that if I see some thing some where I'll go.

stinge (463) | 1 year ago | yeah I saw the news this morning outside of walmart. the parking lot looked ridiculus. There were cars and people everywhere crammed in between them. I would expect police officers be hired during the time of the day when it's still dark outside. That's a good deal getting a camera for $89 from $149. As far as best buy, I try to stay away from that place on a regular day.

I did that just once a few years ago, back when the economy wasn't in shambles like it is now. I did it just to see what all the excitement was about and I did need a DVD/VCR player. I got a good deal but found out that "special price" that I got was on that week. So not only did I not need to get up at 3am, I could have gone the day before thanksgiving, regular hours and got the same price.

stinge (463) | 1 year ago | sorry to hear about your job situation. I don't think I would mind paying full price one an item if I were just buying one thing. I guess it's good for those people that go out and buy the whole entire store.
