Wal-Mart worker dies after holiday shoppers knock him down

wow! imagine having to work in retail at your own risk? sheesh, i know people in a hurry to get a bargain and the store only has a certain amount, but this is ridiculous! i know here on boxing day, it gets pretty crazy as well, but not that bad i think...

Oh my goodness! This is just an act of being selfish and uncaring. And all of these people need to be charge with killing this man. I don't know how this could be done, but there a person who lost his life, and his family that don't have a dad, husband, brother, son because of this act of uncaring. All because they want the best deal. I am just so outrage about this story and my heart goes out to this man and his family.

I heard about that on TV this morning, all I could do was shake my head. I went shopping on a Black Friday one time and said never again. It is unbelievable how some people push and shove to get those bargains. Some people have children with them and the crowds are so out of control. Imagine, killing people so that you can spend your money.
Security, doesn't matter, because once the doors open, they can not control the crowds. I feel so bad for that young man, going to work, and never returning home because of juvenile acting adults.

it is called selfishness and greed...People are so interested in what they want. Why do you think this whole "Black Friday" things works out so well, in the favor of the big corporations like Walmart of course. Christmas has been commercialized. It doesn't mean what it is supposed to mean anymore. That man was killed this morning because peoples greed and selfishness motivated them to get into that store and get to stuff before anyone else got to the stuff they were after. Walmart should have to pay this man's family about a million dollars (TAX FREE) or so just for damages, and pay for his funeral as well. After all, they got what they wanted...they got their shoppers...

A million dollars to the family of this worker and the cost of his funeral will be nothing at all compared to what that company will make today with all the other greedy shoppers out and about spending money they don't really have at other walmart stores...go ahead Walmart...pony up....

i cant believe that people get that worked up over sales!! seriously. with the economy the way it is dont they have better things to spend their money on? is killing a man really that necessary? maybe the stores should increase security or maybe they should just give the workers the day off except for the cashiers and the people can just run around crazy without hurting anyone.

One of the many reasons why I do not bother going out on Black Friday. I am not going to get trampled because of some dumb toy that my kids really don't need in the first place.

What is wrong with people? My Lord! Is a sale really that worth it? I have never gone out during the black fridays days . if people are crazy as is just around holidays think about then . I mean i have wanted to BUT! Anyway that is sad he was just at work and now look . My fiance was working at walmart many years ago and they were having a sale and he was in the way of a lady with a cart and she ran over like the heels of his legs to get out of the way . That is shocking now that i think about it, but at the time me and my bro laughed at it .

This just proves it, people are idiots. I have never ever shopped on black friday, and don't ever plan to. Too many idiots out there who lose all common sense in the hunt for a bargain. On the news the other day they showed people who were in line in front of a store on TUESDAY to wait for the Friday sales. They planned to camp there the entire time. Can we say stupid??? How many times do we hear stories on the news of people shot or injured because they got the last toy that some other moron wanted more? Unfortunately I think the retailers bring alot of this on themselves. If they want to have great sales don't make it a one day event. Don't allow people to mass in front of the doors waiting for them to open. And stop doing such ridiculous price changes just to get people into the doors to make a sale. Because unfortunately some of those people coming in the door may not live to get back out of it.

HI ersmommy: That doesn't surprise me at all; I worked for this company for
many many years before I had to go on disability; People that shop on Black
Friday at these retails stores are just "insane" when they RUSH through the
doors, they literally RUN with the carts to get to the locations of the items
they are rushing in to purchase; Its not worth any item to me in order to kill
someone over, how on earth can anyone literally trample a person to death? The
person or people involved I bet you kept right on running and didn't even give
the man they were stomping on a second thought...its really really sad;

Walmart and all the other places that run these silly 3-4 hour ads should STOP
and just make sure there are PLENTY of said items in stock, stop limiting the supply
and then the mobs will not trample people in order to get that special deal
on a TV, or computer or clothes or whatever it is;

As I said many many years I was right up front usually working the Service Desk
lucky me, and have always witnessed these people that run like knuckleheads
to get those "Few items on sale"...its just not worth it, not even If I had
gazallions of dollars in my pocket would I rush out to do this on Black Friday!
No way, no how, no thanks!

I feel sorry for the man's family and for the others injured in this I will
make sure I watch the news later this evening to see all the mayhem again;

Its just not worth it people its just not! I doubt old Walmart will stop those
silly 3-4 hour sales but I bet if Sam Walton himself was still alive after
hearing about this I bet he would put a stop to it...and then who knows right?

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the deceased man and to the others
injured, what a shame!

I black friday shop in fact I was out at about 530 this morning. I have gone every year since I was 16. So 9 years I have gone and in all that time I have NEVER encountered anything like that. I can't belive that people would be that horriable! Some one had to see him laying there. I hope that the people that did this to that poor man are held accountable. I don't know how they would even begin to round up those people but I would think security cameras could help. How horriable for the family of this young man. He was only 34!

I hope wal mart does some thing for the family of this man!
