Is there a country wide power outtage?

I was thinking you need to come visit me in Texas, land of sunshine! Come on down! I'll leave the sun on for ya!

Out here in the sunny desert we don't get too upset about the chill factor, but we did have two clouded over days in a row this week which I don't think we have ever see before in the 10 years we've been here. Today the sun was out, though. Yes it is getting dark earlier.

My solution is the AeroGarden planters, because their bright sunny lights cheer the place up and the flowers we grow through the "dead" of winter are mood enhancing as is the lettuce and our tomatoes. I have 17 little green tomatoes hanging in clusters on one of our indoor plants. Of course, they draw a bit of power and we have to buy bulbs for them, but really, they are cheaper than a movie show and more wholesome.

I like your pole idea. I've got an idea for a pole you can use. It may not be able to attach to the sun, but I think if you use it that you will see the light.

I think it starts getting dark around 4:30 or 5. I don't like it.

So far my plan of sweet talking to the sun hasn't been working. It still leaves earlier than I want it to. I think I may have creeped it out because it has been leaving earlier each day.

It's getting darker here in the states, but that might be because the U.K is hogging all the sunlight. It's not to bad having shorter days since it feels like the day is finally finished after coming home from an easy days work. We have been getting a little snow here in some of the higher elevated parts, but for the most part Winter is on schedule as expected and we should be whining about how cold it is somewhere in mid February when cabin fever has finally kicked in. Enjoy the time you spend under your love seat.

I hear you Curly. It's been way too dark around here these days. I hate days with no sunlight at all. At least if there's been sunlight, I can tolerate the shorter days. When it's gloomy outside, it affects my mood inside. Maybe we can take comfort in the upcoming holiday season. I do wish you and yours a very special Christmas this year. Take care.

it is winter season here and it usually gets dark by around 4.00 pm.on these days i love using scented candles as it is ,the atmosphere looks depressing to me.

In spite of Irish's praise of Texas sunshine, it gets dark way to early and daylight comes way too late to suit me. The fact that time passes faster the older you get applies only to spring and summer. Fall and Winter drag by and seem to never end. I'm like you, I thing I'll find a nice dark place to hibernate and let the world pass me by for a few months. At least if it's supposed to be dark it's ok, but daytime isn't supposed to be.
