Here are some ways that can give your brain a "pick me up"!

Exercise

Hydrate your body and brain with water and other good liquids

Stimulate it with new colors around you, on your computer, change where you sit, etc. New input always helps.

Think happy!! Dream of a great vacation, fun things that you have done, etc.

Play games

Watch quality TV that stimulates like Jeopardy (I like to try and answer the questions), or other thought-provoking TV shows.

Surf the net. Yes, it does help!

Eat brain food (not pills but the actual foods that contain Vitamin A, B Vitamins, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Magnesium, Zinc, Amino Acids

Fish oil. Eating the fish is best but if not, a good supplement (I find Krill Oil the best)

Consume brain-boosting herbs, but the two most important are Ginkgo Biloba and Ginseng

Learn something new!! I was learning Italian this year and am trying to learn sign language

Organize and save time!! Keeping things clutter free will make it better for you to focus. Organize your time, your space, etc. When you do, you will waste less time and be more stress free.

Work on improving your memory by doing memory exercises.

Get proper rest. Oh, and YES, nap time is not just for infants and old people. If you feel tired, take a short nap. Big companies are starting to allow for this (at least the smart ones) and make sure you find a way to get a good night's sleep.

Have sex!! Oh, yes, now you have an excuse. "Honey, I need to get smarter!!"

LOL

So, have fun pumping up your brain!!

I think a lot of people overlook the no clutter advisement. It really does help! People usually feel much better off when their house and affairs are in order. I know I do!

I can attest to that!! When my business was busy (dance school) and my office got cluttered with costumes, sets, props, programs and other stuff, while trying to run it and teach, I would find it hard to concentrate.

Even at home. When I want to get things done, I must clean first or it just clutters my mind!!

This is good advice. I especially like the new colors suggestion. :) I will try that one for sure. :) I am glad that surfing the net helps! thumbup Brain food sounds good so long as fish isn't the *only* option! *LOL* I totally agree with proper rest, proper nutrition, and exercise. I don't always DO that mind you, but I know that it's important and I try! *LOL* I certainly don't mind taking naps! I can't comment on that last suggestion! *LOL* Very good advice, thank you for this. :-)

Great tips described here, nanajanet! Also, try neurobics by Lawrence C. Katz. The main idea is "use it or loose it". You have to train your brain in order to maintain his good working. Don't forget about food and alimentation. It's the basis of learning. Good call on ginkgo bilova and ginseng! I wanted to write about them, but you did it perfectly!
