Remedy for hands  

I do have some Aloe Vera, but when I suggested it after the Vaseline failure, he said, No...Maybe I will try it again, but I would have to buy some since my plants are small and not many..:(

We are going out soon, Neutrogena isn't that expensive? I thought it was, I will check into it, thanks book..

hi Carmela here its not very expensive. It is good cause it will not leave a greasy feeling after applying and it will work on that chafed area like magical. As a diabetic I have some problems with chafed hands mainly in wintertime and use quite a bit of various hand creams. I have some oldies but goldies to use up but the Neutrogena which I got as a gift sits there for absolute emergencies.,

We are heading out, but I can search or you can so I can determine what actually is going on..I use Vaseline whenever I get a scrap or extremely dry skin, how come it doesn't burn me??

I don't know, maybe you're like my Mom. She was tough as nails. She didn't use novacaine at the Dentist's Office and couldn't understand why I needed it.

What you described looked like eczema in the slide show for adults, didn't see anything that looked like skinned skin on the child pictures. The slide show shows one picture at a time. Should come up better for you than the videos. Try these:

Everyone is different. The same liquids rubbed on other people's skin don't bother them, but make me break out or cause pain. We are called "sensitive skin" ned individuals for a reason. Anyway, here is a picture of a skin condition that is on the adult medicine net that looks like skinned skin, but it isn't. Of course without a skin doctor (dermatologist), it's hard to know what it is exactly. There are other pictures that look like they could be chapped skin. There were about three slides that could be what you're describing. Please check them out. Take care and I hope things work out better (if he does wet his skin in winter, it could be chapped, I have chapped lips, but the bottom one is worse because I'm always wetting it). Take care.

Yup, my Mother was tough as nails. Novacaine bothered her more than drilling her teeth, so she went without. Different things bother different people differently. Glad it isn't eczema. Hope it's not of the ones in the slides, just chapped skin like you said and agreed, if it isn't important, don't respond. Take care.

I hope it works for you. My Mom just reminded be of another one, cornhuskers lotion. She says that it can normally be found at any drug store.

I agreed.. try Vitamin E Moisturizing Cream from organic Aid. It's help a lot on me.

Corn Huskers, of course..sometimes the old stuff is still, the best stuff...And I won't have to use up the vitamin E on his hands, thanks..

Thanks Feona, but the first thing I am going to try is corn Huskers..I remember using this many times as a kid, I am sure it will work..Though I did look up eczema on this site, because a friend we visited, (she didn't even look close at his hand), automatically said he had this. I saw the symptoms, so I know that isn't it..

The site did seem to have a lot of different reasons for dry skin...

I would think anything you can use on an infant will work also....let me know how the corn huskers works cuz my hands are dry all the time...I am constantly washing my hands...

My dad used his hands a lot, he was a tool maker and he had a workshop in the garage and used corn huskers lotion for his skin..when mine would get really bad, he would pull it out and have me use it, it healed it up real fast..Unfortunately, my husband took off and forgot to ask me if I needed anything, so I may have to wait until Wednesday when a mylotter said I may get this lotion called renew and see if that works..

No, same soap and same eating habits. I hope I don't have to invest into something expensive, corn huskers which is what one of the posters mentioned, sounds like it will work and something we could all use..

I know what Eucerin is, and can't afford that lotion, but corn huskers is something that is mild and I don't think is expensive.. And this doesn't really bother my son, it only bothered him when I put Vaseline on it, but it looks horrible..So I guess it is more because I think it looks bad, than it actually hurting him..

Yes the Eucerin I did not actually buy myself. They were free samples at the dentist or something. I would always sneak a couple in my pocket.

It did not really hurt my hands except for the Vaseline and things. It did get really bad at a few points that it did hurt to close and open my hands. It was all dry right on my knuckles so it was not fun at all and they bled.

Mine was a free sample too, through the nursery where I bought my hedges..I used it after I gardened and loved it, but when I went to the store to see how much, I couldn't afford to buy lotion at that price, even if it was good..
