A Danish Christmas tree has a lot of red and white on it (Danish flags, woven heart baskets) but we have a lot of other decoorations in ALL COLOURS including huge balls and coloured lights. It's been that way all along, before and after the 80s.

2. chrislotz (6058) | 1 year ago | We, my daughter and I, went out shopping last month, to Walmart and we saw the cutest tree ever. It is all white and only 4 feet tall, which is perfect for us, the size, and dressed all up with just clear lites. It was perfect for us so we bought it although we didn't really need a new one. It was a really good price so we couldn't turn it down.
We decorated it with silver and blue bulbs and didn't put any tinsel on it because it didn't need more decorations than that. Tinsel only makes a mess anyways so we didn't bother with it. My tree looks quite elegant with just the few different colors on it.
Here is a picture of my livingroom where I have the tree sitting on the coffee table in the middle. I don't have a picture of the tree because my camera just broke and I need to go buy a new one, hoping to get a new one for christmas, so I have been putting it off. So you can imagine how it looks with the tree in the middle of my room. It looks good.
Alrighty then, talk to you later my friend, Have a good day, Chris

5. laglen (3814) | 1 year ago | A bit cheeky maybe? lol you are entitled to your opinion. I tossed my green tree last year and bought a red and silver tree. It reminds me of when I was a kid and I think that is a lot of what Christmas is about!

6. gitfiddleplayer (5574) | 1 year ago | I guess those Christmas trees have memories attached to them, that's why they keep the old ones around. Plus, those things are not cheap, unless you buy a tree that goes back into the woods after you've unwrapped all the gifts. Our tree is fake, green and decorated with some decent ornaments.

7. DonnaLawson (2801) | 1 year ago | Loud, I have decoration dating back to when we got married in 1968, so I guess that I am farther behind than the 80's.. I like tradition and my tree is usually very colorful and it is actually beautiful.. I do like the small clear lights but I do have to put the styrofoam concoction that my son made in kindergarten somewhere on the tree each year.. Also the crocheted angels from my cousin, the crocheted bells from another cousin, the knit ornament from a friend at work, the ornaments that I made in my crafting period, the handmade ornaments from friends and family, the ornaments with family pictures in them, and every ornament that my son and his friends made from the time they were old enough to make them until they got too old to make them.. Red, Blue, Green and Yellow, silver, gold, and every color under the sun that reminds me of Christmas.. I like them all, no one color trees for me.. It is called tradition and yes, you are "cheeky", but Merry Christmas to you anyway..
I may have to think about it for awhile before replacing my handmade Santa and Mrs. Clause for a man wearing nout but ..silky black tight fittin boxers, although it doesn't sound bad..

9. animeniak (347) | 1 year ago | Well it's better than nothing, isn't it? I would rather have a decorative multicolored 1980s Christmas trees (maybe in your definition) rather than just having nothing.

ClassyCat (708) | 1 year ago | To me clear lights are NOT a color, and I like color - sometimes multi-colors, maybe sometimes all one solid color. I haven't put a tree up since my dad died, in 1997,except for a small table top a couple of times.
But I have put up lighted decorations around the house. And I bet I have everyone beat for OLD trees - mine is from the late 1960's! I still like it, even though I haven't put it up in a long time.
I like it better than todays's trees, because it has the 'flat' branches, and there are spaces between the branches, not like the ones today. That makes it possible for my ornaments to hang freely, without just 'laying' up against another brance, which I think is not attractive at all.
I have bought a small 3 ft. tree a time or two, and did a decoration "theme." One year it was red lights and pieces of jewlery - and one year it was pink lights and bunnies - and they were different and I enjoyed them.
I like different and creativity in decorating them.
Ok - Im done, and waiting for some snow

animeniak (347) | 1 year ago | so you live somewhere in the world that snows.. huh? that's great, because where I live, it's a ghetto state, and snow is kind of rare here -_-;; Yeah, having Christmas trees is fun, better than having nothing at all though. It's like treating those holidays just like any other regular days... which sounds just like my family.
