Why India is making it big in IT?

This is a question for which I would expect there would be lot of answers. I would like to place my own theory. For one thing, S/W industry is the one with the least investment with the fastest turnaround time. Here the main resource is trained manpower which we have in plenty.

Why we as Indians are very good in software, as against hardware? When I say hardware I mean manufacturing of VLSI and other current technology hardware. We are good in doing designs under supervision of others, using PC/WS based tools, but to really manufacture the same we need to bring in techology of the right kind. Thisthe Tiger countries specialized so much so that they have formed the manufacturing hub for Hitech ICs- like microprocessor chips of DSP chips etc.

And I have another queer argument for why Indians make good S/w engineers. We are good talkers. And S/W is talking to the computers.I invite your opinions. You can choose to attack mine.
