Mumbai attacks; an attack with a message for Obama? + wtf was India doing?  

The Indian government did not do their job. Okay I would get to that later. But what many news networks do not get to is that this is not an attack that has Indians in mind.

This is so obvious to me. Where did they attack? Nariman House, Taj Hotel, the Oberoi hotel, cafes visited by foreigners and our Jewish friends. Why did they not attack something that was iconic to India? E.g. why did they not blow up the gateway to India, or Bollywood sets?

I really doubt that this is the job of the LET. This is very much AlQaeda like.

Some information of the LET first... It is very wrongly blurted out by the Indian media that the CIA created the LET in the 80s to combat in Afghanistan. This is absolute rubbish. Lashkar-e-Taiba is a political wing to the MDI (tell me the full name if you know, plus its meaning as I do not know Arabic). MDI is a political party of the Ahle Hadith sect. Ahle Hadith is a sect that believes people should follow the Hadiths of Islam by any means necessary. Laskar means army, e is a grammatical notation of the term of and Taiba (or Tauba in Punjabi) means righteousness or in some usage God. What this group wishes to do is to create a mammoth Islamic state that includes all of South Asia, China and Russia. They believe that the first domino chip to fall would be Kashmir and has gone all out to attack it.

AlQaeda and the LeT have neighboring ideologies and are both spawn of the Pakistani intelligent agency the ISI.

Evidences, however lead it away from this. For one, two days before attack, Al Qaeda broadcasted a video showing Obama vs Malcolm X. They used a racial verb on Obama citing that Obama was just a slave to the white people to America. What really makes them mad is the fact that Obama was born to a Muslim father but is not Muslim today. They fear that Obama would be an example to Muslims to be able to convert out of Islam without facing the death penalty. This is the ideology that they fear being spread.

On another note, Obama wants to clear out of Iraq and move the fight to Afghanistan to combat the Taliban. He also threatened to cross the border to attack AlQaeda targets in Pakistan if necessary. The US have been doing that with drones the past few months to deadly effect. This has also forced Pakistani troops from the Indian border to concentrate on the Afghan border to help out hitting out at militants. This makes the AlQaeda operatives lives there difficult. so they needed a plan to get the Pakistani troops out of their area.

The last evidence is in the attacks itself. This is not a standard attack on India. It is not targeting Hindus, there was no care to limit the death toll of local Muslims, there was a clear emphasis on targeting foreigners and Westerners. That is not the fashion that the LET likes to carry out its attacks. It loves to attack trains, Hindu temples and crowded places. The only place that makes sense for LET to attack, is the train station. If it was the LET, why was there no attempt to blow up anything iconic in India like the Gateway to India monument or some Bollywood sets? Why target foreigners?

The best clue came from the mouth of the terrorist that was caught alive. The reason he gave for attacking the Nariman house was to avenge the death of Palestinians. That is not LeT agenda but AlQaeda's.

However for all that I say, there could be a chance that the LeT has evolved to get backing of AlQaeda and to increase their recruitment drive. I just think that it is not that likely.

So now to hit out at the Indian government.

Mistake 1 : TO ignore US intelligence that was handed to India. Some suggested that if the Israelis had the intel first and then handed them to the US for verification. Would the Indians have acted better if they were given intelligence directly by the Moussad? I do not think so... I understand if it were someone calling form a public phone giving this information and India ignores it. But if it is given by the CIA, why did the Indian government ignored it?

Mistake 2: For such a major city with huge crime syndicates, where was the swat team? The entire Indian police did not just have a SWAT team, they did not have a MP5. They were using very old guns. The Indian police was so under-equipped that 100% of AK bullets could pierce their body armor when shot from a distance.

Mistake 3: The Indian Police force was very ill trained. They had no idea of the standard operating procedures for Close Quarter Battles. There was no train entry or anything to secure the stairs exits. Initially there were Police that entered the place thinking that they were Sunny Deol or Sanjay Dutt and can the heroics that the 2 do in their films. No barriers were put up to protect the public and nearby buildings was not cleared when the Nariman house was under attack. That was why Mumbai could be under siege by just 10 gunmen.

Mistake 4: Warnings was not heeded when fishermen told them that 4 bodies of sailors were spotted in Gujrat and nothing was done. Fishermen unions were also sounding off warnings to the Indian government but nobody took any notice.


What is scary right now is the possible drawback of this. Pakistan may be attacked soon. According to recent polls; 90% of Indians think it is fair that the Indian government enter Pakistan to root out the terrorists there. That is a scary situation for Obama to enter the world in...
