I know this is a weird question.

I think we have AMC and Regal around here. I only go to the movies once every few months. The closest theater to me is about 35 miles.

Can't say that I have any of those around here. We have Great Escape theaters around here. Do you have one of those around you?

All three are in Southern California. We usually go once a month, but during the holidays it depends on what is playing. One reason we are going less is the high cost for tickets. My husband paid $12.25 to view a movie in November.

I live in the Los Angeles area and we have all three of those theaters. Edwards is the closest of the three but Laemle's is about two miles from our house so that is the one that we frequent the most.

We have a Regal and a Carmike.... I think that Carmike might be owned by Edwards but I'm not sure.

I live about half an hour from a United Artist Theatres. I have never heard of Edwards Theatres, is there any on the West Coast? I have been to a REgal Cinemas before. I see a movie in a theatre about once a month.

We don't have those types of cinemas in our area. We have a Sipp theatre and a Plaza Cinema in my town.

I am outside the Unites States. We don't have those theaters. What is the differences between the three? © ronaldinu 2008

Ambie....just checked the Phone Book, and the only one of those Chains that I can find in either Victoria or Vancouver, B.C., Canada is a United Artists affiliate! Possibly there are the other two, but just under another name! Cheers!

I have a theater within a couple of miles from me....it's called Cinema 7.....but I rarely go to a movie there.....in fact the last one I went to was Groundhog's day....so we know that was a long time ago. I go with my sisters more....in either Mankato or Minneapolis and we go to so many different ones that I don't know what the names are.

I live in Canada and we don't have those theatres here. We have Cinema Max theatre here in Calgary. I don't know of any other one we have, I think it is the only one. We do have 4 of them in our city and all of their theatres have 10 rooms with different movies showing in each one. I don't go to the movies very often because it has gotten quite expensive. The last time my husband and I went it cost us over $60 for the admission and two drinks and two popcorns. I think that is riduculous and I won't pay that much, too often. It is a lot cheaper to rent a movie and buy a bottle of pop and make my own popcorn. That works out to about $10, big difference huh. In Utah we don't have any of those, or at least I haven't heard of them. Mostly we have Cinemarks, Carmikes, and Megaplex theaters. My husband and I used to go see a movie one or twice a month, but now that we are parents we probably see six movies a year.... maybe.

We don't have any of those near us. We have Warren, AMC and Hollywood Theaters for 1st run movies. And there are a couple of independents that show 2nd release movies for $2 per ticket. And of course the beloved drive-in theater. The regular and bargain theaters are only about a mile from our house. The drive-in is about 8 or 9 miles away. When it's open, we are most apt to go to the drive-in. I like the fresh air, and not having a sticky floor to have my feet on. Sitting in regular theaters with filthy floors, I end up sitting there wondering how many cockroaches are running over my feet that I can't see, instead of enjoying the movie. With the drive-in, we can also bring our own food and beverages if we want to...plus they show 3 movies. I like that a lot.

We do not have any cinemas in our area like those. We just have a local cinema around here and that is about it.

Hello AmbiePam. In the small town where I work and live, there is a theater and a cinema, but I have been to each of them for about twice at most. That was many years ago. I don't like to go to them any more. I love to watch movies online or on DVD player. Or I watch TV. Cinemas and theaters are becoming strange to me now. Happy New Year to you, friend.

Yes this is somewhat weird, but interesting question. By the way, I'm living in New Delhi, India and we are having one Regal Cinema here also.

I haven't been out much since I moved here 2 years ago, but I know there's a movie theater about 10 minutes from here across the street from a washer we use to go to. That's a shame, I don't even know the name of the movie theater so you know I never went in to see a movie. We've talked about going to the movies for the longest but it never happened. If or when it happens I'll be going by myself.

Hi ambiepam! It's not a strange question at all! We gave United Artist Theatres here in the US, but not the other two. I don't hardly ever go to the theatres anymore because it costs so much money these days! I think the price of tickets is $12 for an adult. My girlfriend and I get in for Seniors (that's the only time that I'll gladly try to sneak in as an old fart) but I think that is still $8! Even the matinees are expensive! I have to really want to see a movie real bad to go!

erm...what? lol. I haven't heard of those cinemas before...
