Gmail. Like it? Love it? Hate it?

yeah, very cool. in addition, gmail can help you receive emails from other email account such as hotmail. it is the integration service provided by gmail that make google acquire lots of users in free email markets since users don't have to give up ex-email that has been well-known in your friends.

Apparently, each one has it's good points and bad points. In my Hotmail account, I have my spam filter set as always but it has begun to let in more spam to my inbox instead of going directly to my spam box.

I'm still learning about Gmail but, so far, I like it better than Hotmail. We'll see. Thanks for the information.

Yep, I have that problem too with spam coming to my inbox instead of the spam folder in Hotmail. So, you're 100% in favor of Gmail. Good to know! It looks like Gmail is going to win by a landslide!

As a self employed writer, I have multiple email accounts. I should say that I have tried many different emails as well. One of which was gmail, which I just closed the other day because of the amount of spam. Yes, the spam folder would collect most of it, but the emails that I would get in my inbox that were spam, I would mark as spam and still end up with them in my inbox.

The upside of the gmail account was the google documents, which helped in a time of crisis when my main laptop was with the geek squad and our other laptop had Corel and not Word. So I was able to work in the google documents, save as a Word document and get work to my clients.

So really it is going to depend on how you use your gmail as to whether or not it is a good email service for you.

Thanks, elitess. I used to use Yahoo but geesy-peesy! They're innundated with spam! Maybe it was because the wrong person got hold of my email address and sold it to a thousand different people; I don't know.

I'm going to give Gmail a try. So far, I like it but I'm very confused about that chat feature! Aaaargh!

I've noticed an increase in spam with Hotmail. Like you, I spend more time deleting spam than actually reading emails! Yeah, I just recently opened my Gmail account... very recently. I'm still learning it. I love some of the cute emoticons they have, though! More than Hotmail, for sure!

I did set up a gmail but have not used it or given it out for return mail. I guess I better get my bu@@ in gear if i want to join in on the fun. Peaceout

I am finally getting used to it. If I type to fast sometimes there will be missed letters. The word peaceful might show up as peaefl.

You know, my son bugged me for a long time to open a Gmail account because he loved it so much. Now, he's like you and hardly ever uses it! That's why I didn't know what to think about it and want to hear what others say before I decide to stick with it and delete my Hotmail account or not.
