Do you tell your children about Santa? |
|
I don't know if there is already a post about this up or not, and if there is sorry, but here is the question. Do you tell your children about Santa Claus? If so why? If not why not? What do you think is an appropriate age to tell them the truth? Do you feel guilty when you do tell them that there isn't one? Do you feel guilty when you lie and tell them all about Santa Claus?

2. aprilsue00 (1764) | 1 year ago | I tell my chilren about Santa Claus. I believe that it gives them hope. My oldest son is seven and I think that he still believes in Santa Claus. I am not sure what a good age would be to tell them that Santa is not real. I guess I will just let them figure that out on their own.

luvandpower (907) | 1 year ago | Just think about all the various emotions that can happen if they find out on their own. Let me tell you what happened to me before you jump to conclusions ok?
I was five when I found out he wasn't real, I felt betrayed, like I could never trust my parents ever again. For a while, I didn't. it took a while for my parents to actually regain my trust.
But besides that little segment, I fully agree it gives hope and it also gives them something to look after to behave and to know that there is someone there that is nice in the world enough to do such a thing.

luvandpower (907) | 1 year ago | wow! yea, i fully agree with that method, the only downfall I can see is " slip of the tongue" from a child...that should go over well:p
be closing down school for hectic kids murdering teachers. hehe... totally awesome, thanks for the idea
but yea honestly i like that idea, and approach. it would not leave any guilty because it is the truth, and you should talk about the christian aspect from teh very begining! amen!
