i am very shy when someone compliments me and if it is a stranger i always wander what there alteriopr motive is, i give my best friend compliments all the time

I like to receive compliments, but to an extent. General compliments are always nice to get, such as compliments on my clothes, purse or accessories, or hair. But if a guy comes up to me and starts talking about my smile or my eyes or some other physical feature, sometimes I feel awkward. If he's just saying it to be polite then it's not to bad at all. But if he comes on very strong and keeps persisting it, I know he's up to something, or he's just a punk (lol). But I love it when girls compliment me, and I will always compliment other girls if I like something they're wearing. I figure as a girl that I like to receive compliments, so I always tell other girls if I like what they're wearing. I think it's a very nice gesture if not taken the wrong way.

I do like receiving compliments and I try to give them out a little bit just to be nice. It is weird though when someone compliments you and you don't really know what to say back. If you compliment them back, then they will know it is just because they complimented you first.

lol.. i had ppl complimenting me on my smile..especially strangers.. and i found it soo wierd lol.. i feel awkward ..lol

I like giving compliments but only when there's something nice about that person. But sometimes I too get awkward when someone compliments me and I have nothing to say to them because I can't find a thing to compliment about them. Sometimes though I will say a compliment back, but it only depends.

Ya! Same here. I get the most compliments for my eyes. But now I'm kind of used to it, so I just say "Thanks!". Its easy to compliment anyone but I think we need to be truthful when giving away compliments.

Saying nothing is a bad sign, its disrepecting for the person who complimented you. So its always nice to smile back and tell them "Thank you" or "You made my day" and stuff like that, even if they didnt. I mean, the person just appreciated me, can't I do atleast that for her/him. "Cordial" is the right word. Take care.

me alone loves to give compliments to someone if i have seen something nice on them but if someone praises me for something i really don't know how answer them back instead i just tell them thank you and sometimes i just say "oh really?" then smile. Smile is just a simplest answer of saying thank you.

What else can you say and do? It is enough.

There is no point trying to reciprocate - it should either come naturally, or not at all.

I always like to compliment people. It makes me feel good and it makes them feel good. Then, why not? Sometimes people compliment me. They never say I'm handsome, though, , but sometimes they compliment me because of my personality or something I have done really well. And I always say thank you in a firm way, accepting the compliment. I believe that it is the best to do - no saying compliments back because it might sound fake.
By the way, you look really beautiful on your avatar. Really. Is that you?
