The Membershp Level? |
|
I have a recent discussion on the Runescape category discussing the quests I should do first, and I noticed a lot of people has ignored the point about me being 22 combat ( lol it is cool)...so now I ask you great Runescape players...what combat level should I be to actually turn member? I have always heard don't turn member until about 60 combat? What do you think? I personally think a level 45 or should become a member because that is about the average when someone defeats all the nonmember quests.

1. 060157 (761) | 1 year ago | well i would definitely recommend you to beat ALL the non-member quest before stepping into the member world. i would say that a level 50+ character would do fine in member's world.
other things that you might like to collect before becoming a member would be logs, if you are planning to level up your fletching.
one of the very first quest you should be doing is druidic ritual which unlocks the herblore skill. try doing some other easy quests like clock-tower and uh well i don't remember the names, if you are seeking quick quest points and experience.
i'd also recommend you to complete the varrock achievement diary, atleast till the medium level for your level of character (i hope that you have been working up on non combat skills as well), so that you can buy battle staffs from the shop and sell them for a profit at the grand exchange(not sure how much the profit is these days), or maybe make air battle staff out of it and gain some crafting experience and then sell it for a profit.
well there is alot you can do in the members world. i think i have answered more than you asked for.

luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | your right, and yes the staffs are still very profitable, I do indeed hope that I can get my craft in the sixties ( or fifties) to make my own staffs, I hear that is one of the best ways to make money.

luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | yea too bad they don't do stuff like that in nonmember worlds lol.

2. uath13 (3767) | 1 year ago | Actually you could step over to members at any time. There are advantages to coming over sooner. You can start working on your member skills earlier not to mention you can use potions & familars to do your F2P quests & make them that much easier. Just remember not to go too far into the members areas as they get progressivly more dangerous.

|
luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | Yea...that is the way I see it too, the earlier I become member, the easier it will be in the long run, because I can then do all of my skills in a multi task sort of way so that way I won't be like most people and have to wait a long time and do each skill seperately. ...and thanks for the reminder that reminds me of the first time I tried to walk to castle wars lol...I lagged at the ogres ...yea wasn't pretty.

uath13 (3767) | 1 year ago | Just think how much easier it would be to kill Elvarg ( for the last F2P quest ) if you have the advantage of a poisoned weapon, antifire pots ( since nonmembers still get burned using just the shield ) & super pots to boost your stats along with sharks that heal even more. He suddenly becomes a walk in the park instead of something dangerous.
P.S. If they ever make an actual god that comes along & kills people at random he should be called laggdeath. Or is that what's already happening & we just can't see his all powerful hand in action?
| |
|
|
uath13 (3767) | 1 year ago | Almost forgot... for a nonmember using range against Elvarg is seuicide since they can't use the dragonfire shield with a bow ( they're only range weapon... instant crispyness ). Members have the advantage of knives, darts, javelins & crossbows that can all be poisoned & used with the dragonfire shield so they can sit back & plunk away at him scorch free.

|
luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | your right...i will answer the second comment first, nonmembers do have the crappy regular crowwbow, or phoenix I guess but they are the same thing. unless you have 70 range or more or something as a nonmember i still don't reccomend crossbowing it lol.
i never actually used one of those antifire pots before on luv, do they actually protect fully or what?
that would be interesting, how about mage? would mage be good against elvarg? i mean i could then curse/fire blast him to death? and normaly at that time doing 16's is better than the normal 10's at 50 combat lol.

|
|
uath13 (3767) | 1 year ago | Antifire pots when used with the antifire or dragonfire shield negate all the fire damage.
The nonmember crossbows are way too underpowered to even be considered.
Dragons are resistant to magic so it'd be rough.
| |
|
|
luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | thanks for the antifire pot info gonna help later when I actually get my payout from mylot ( lol gosh it takes a long time for them to actually pay up)
but yea your right mage is to rough with dragons and the crossbow is too nooby.
what would you reccomend a scinitar, battle axe, or 2hander?
also would you reccomend dragon hide or rune armor?
and does he melee and throw fire at you or just hit with fire? because i tried on aoother account that is like 55 combat with 43 prayer and i lost. i was using mage protect also, with the anti dragon shield! but then i didn't have any armor or hide either.

|
|
uath13 (3767) | 1 year ago | Regular dragons are weak against crush attacks, strong against magic. Go with the battleaxe & the best melee armor you can get ( addie plate or rune chain ). Then use protect from melea. His fire weapon is unique & nothing but the shield & antifire pots will protect you from it. He will also use melee. Dragonhide is range armor with high magic resistance. Ranging him on nonmembers worlds doesn't work well & he's not using magic against you so stick to melea armor. At least it'll boost your combat stats. On members worlds you could easily range him since we have decent one handed range weapons.
P.S. I said regular dragons earlier because on members worlds there are metal dragons. These dragons have metalic scales that make them resistant to range intead of mage. These are actually easier to kill with magic.

|
luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | thanks for all taht info...i was right about the battleaxe everyone had always told me to use scinitar, but that does terrible as it is in clan wars.
and yea I know about the metal dragons, i can't wait til i can do like mithril dragons that will be so cool.

3. vakundekel (120) | 1 year ago | I think that the level 50-55 is the best because you already have full rune and you can do many of members quests, and level 50 isn't that hard to get.

|
|
luvandpower (909) | 1 year ago | you are right...normally by that time you have went and out of total curiousity have bought yor first set of rune armour, then you have to go show it off...to bad I look a little higher and will probably start off with either rune gold trimmed armour or saradomin armour.

4. gbeast95 (317) | 1 year ago | in my opinion it doesnt really matter what level you become a member, it is up to the account owner, however, if i had to choose something around 60+ to become a member.
