Have you ever changed an adult's diaper?

changed adult's diaper? what do you mean by that? i certainly diidn't do anything like that. what kind of job do that kind of work?

Actually, yes I have. Years ago my ex and I took his grandmother out of the nursing home her son put her in because she was so heartbroken and upset. She was in her 80's and had dementia...had lived on her own until she got sick with an upper respiratory illness and her son decided that it was too risky to send her home. She had to wear adult diapers during the night and I had to help her with both putting it on and taking it off towards the end. By that time she had the mental capacity of around the age of two years old. It's not pleasant, neither was bathing her or dealing with her on a day to day basis but you do what your heart tells you to do when it comes to the people you love.

I have done it lots of times. I have worked in a couple of nursing homes and changing someone's diaper is a part of the job. Before I started I wasn't sure that I would ever get used to that part, but when I had done it a couple of times I didn't really think about it anymore. I will always remember the first time I helped someone with their personal hygiene. I was so shy and I had to force myself to do it, but after a while it became a natural thing.

I have helped my grandmother, too. I don't mind helping her with her diaper or similar things, what is important to me is how SHE feels about it. If she thought that I was too close to her and if she didn't feel comfortable to let me help her, I wouldn't do it of course, but she is fine with it and I happy to help her. She has done so much for me in the past and I am happy that can do something for her now. My parents don't wear diapers, but I would help them, too, if they needed it.

Yes I have I did for my mom and dad was age of 74yrs my mom was at 76yrs it didn't bother me at all I bath them both as well,I was like the nurse of the family they always call me because I like doing that type of work I work in hospital part time

It's sad but some people do have to do this for a relative of theirs. I know of a few people who have already had to do this for a parent. I'm sure it's awkward for the person wearing it and for the one who has to change it but it's part of life. Think of it this way: we go into the world wearing a diaper and we go out wearing one.

No Sheepie I haven't, my grandparents died when I was little and my fater dies when I was 7 years old and my mother died a few years ago but she was 82 but she was not bed ridden, she did everything for herself and was quite active, the stroke killed her so I never had to do that sort of thing, but I did work in the old people's home once but I never had to change their dieapers as it was not my job, I have seen the care nurse doing them and that used to turn my stomach, hope I never have to do it.

Yes I have and it also brings back painful memories. My Grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and in his final days was very ill, bedridden and wearing these. Fact of life I guess. I felt really bad because this is the man who taught me so much in life and how to survive, and to see him reduced to that was horrible. My final memory of him was changing an adult diaper. I left later that day and when I got home, got the phone call he had passed. It was a very sad day for me! I know we should cherish our health as we may not always have it!

No, and it's something I do NOT look forward to doing in this lifetime.
