what do often observe in people now a days?

A discussion not just only for me as a filipino's but to every one that also likes to observe.

As I was asking, I have observed in some Filipino's that many of us now are now spending more wisely in our money, some of them tend not to consume as much as P50 a day I think just to save some money, but even they do that why does it really hard for us save money... for me I think we are just doing the right thing like in spending less to save up but almost all the prices here has gone high.. like for example rice and canned goods but even that is happening they try to keep on saving money for them in case of emrgency.
