WHAT You're Kidding......Right?

I have an old camera that you have to load the film in the back of it. I haven't used it in a long time, I don't even know if it will still work.

I have one too, I don't think it works either. LOL! I've been searching, trying to find info on it and am still getting conflicting information.

So will you just hold onto it? I have 2 working instamatic cameras and I was told that they had already stopped manufacturing film for those. So my man says, "hold onto them and someday they will be worth something". No, practical me, I'm not into storing something purely under speculation when I am already cleaning out to downsize. I said, "what would anyone want an old camera for, that they can't get any film for". My man says, "there are lots of antiques that you can't use but people still want them". I don't know about him but I've seen the "antique" market really really declining recently. I'm ready to chunk the cameras. LOL! Should I list them on ebay?

Oh I am definitely holding onto mine. Maybe sell that one because I have two Minolta cameras and just keep the better one. But I'm not letting go without a fight. I do photography as a passion and as a side job. My camera's have always been and always will be a very important part of who I am. Right down to the digitals I own as well.

They were both very adamant about it and the one kid was VERY angry! I'm getting conflicting info too.

But the point is you are "ordering online"....of course the web site is going to sell film. They are very hard to find in stores. I know, I've tried.

I did find one site that said they were definately scaling down on the manufacture of it. These kids were pretty convincing, but I just can't imagine.............

there is definitely more demand for the digital yes.. but think about the source of information. kids that werent qualified to get a job anywhere but walmart. is that really a reliable source?

Ok, granted anyone under 30 is a kid to me. LOL!

Yip Walgreens and CVS no longer carry them either. They all carry the disposables though. I was told to try Wolf Camera, which is a big shop about 2 hours from me. LOL!

I did find her a Disney Princess, my first camera, but...I'm don't think she would like it..........

Hahahaha. But surely the thought of the look on her face when unwrapping a Disney Princess Camera is worth every dollar Irish?

Yea but the backlash afterwards isn't worth my heart ache. You see my mother only had a sense of humor when she is on the GIVING end of the joke.

lol. Buy yourself one too Irish. You can then tell her that you bought one for both of you so that you could use them together! It won't get any more confusing than that for her, believe me!

Uhmmm, honestly...I'd rather spend less time with her than more time. Just sayin............

Just what will all the paparazzi use?..no these walmart kids are confused as ever..

Papparazzi mainly use digital cameras too these days Rose. It allows them to quickly edit and distribute/publish their photo's online and to their publishing houses etc and the first to release gets the bucks! Digital camera's provide far more flexibility overall and even Professional Photographers use them mostly these days. 35mm will still be around for a while though, but they are being phased out slowly and will eventually become collector's items I think. People will just have to seek less mainstream providers to get hold of them too. Brownie please!

I read one article that said that insurance adjusters still use instanmatics because it's just less easy to tamper with a photo from one.
