|  Well everyone knows about my crappy day that the one good point was that I got my computer stuff. So I start rebuilding my computer, I notice that the motherboard only has one IDE controller, not two, need one for the cd rom, cd burner, and my two hard drives. Ive never seen a motherboard with only one, talked to a couple of my friends that build computers, they have never seen a motherboard with only one. So yay, I can send the motherboard back, and get another one, which the cheapest one my friend could find was 140 dollars. So instead I can get a PCI IDE card, plus my cd roms into that and hard drives into the one on the board, ok thats about 14 dollars or so. So I still need a new monitor, and now something else for my farking computer.
Now to my damn car. I called them around 5:30 they said they were just getting to my car, ok cool, they were very busy when I was there. Its the fuel pump, it blew some fuses when it went out, the fuel filter needs to be replaced, camsink, and the fuel pump relay. Its going to cost 1200 fuucking dollars. Yay me. I already called titlemax and talked to them, was down to about 300 to get it paid off, they said I could refinance it and take back out the 1300 I originally had. Yay. Everyone ive been talking to about it has said oh wow this sucks to happen around christmas. What if it had happened in the middle of summer it woudl have been better or something? Ugh. My parents say this is like the only thing hasnt been replaced in the car over the years so I guess thats good lol.

Plus dont have much choice right now, if it was running I would have more, but like I was telling another friend of mine, cant tow it from one place to another paying for each tow and find out they were right or can get it a little tiny bit cheaper. | | | |

| | Ok, then this is my suggestion. Things may just cost more over your way. I would try to get my buddy to drop me by there on the way into work. Talk to one of the head mechanics. Get all the info, nod like you know what they are talking about and then take his hand, look him straight in the eye and say, "ok, man, I'm trusting you, thanks for your help" I wouldn't be suprised if it cost a bit less than what you were quoted. | |  you could call a couple places and tell them what you were told and ask if you can get a quote.
I know with air conditioning thats going in my car i talked to dodge and they quoted me $1500 plus taxes and enviro fees to fix it and the other place i checked quoted me $578 all inclusive

| | Ok, my man said this may be fair as the fuel pumps in many cars now, are in the fuel tanks. So the thing has to be removed and drained, etc etc. More labor, so that may be the cost. I didn't know what year your car was to tell him, but that's what he said. | | | |

| |  My day, compared to the last two weeks has been decent. I can't wait til the holidays are over, my niece is back in school, and winter is over. I usually love the winter time and snow, but i can not take having to watch my niece again for atleast a month, however, since there is no school and no one else to watch her while her parents work, guess who gets to watch her for a week after xmas. Yep thats right...ME. Do you think my brother has thanked me for the times i have watched her in the past two weeks, or helped in any way with the things me and her have done together to keep her out of trouble and out of people's hair? NO. Do you think i have had more than one day off in the last three weeks...NO...i am five seconds from losing the last little bit of sanity i have left.

| | I have seen them with just the one IDE controller alot of the new ones we get at the store have just the one....they typcially have 6 SATA ports instead. If i want more than 1 ide controller ordered in we have to search pretty hard these days to get them in.
I woulda kept the board and just ordered a SATA DVD burner and ignored the 2nd cdrom drive.
You could check around for a used car for the 1300 rather than fixing it if you wanted to.
My day kinda sucked in the morning...i woke up sick and my car wouldnt start because its -41 c plus windchill. Got it going 4 hours later so i went with my mom and family to the xmas party rather than going to work...we went bowling. I'm still sick and been working on other computers here at home to make up the hours i missed. | | | | | | |

I just bought a great new puter, monitor, and free printer for $400 from Best Buy a month ago. It is loaded as well with all you mentioned. Just wanted to state this was all.

| |  I agree with you. Having bad things happen around christmas don't make them worse than if they happened at another time. On the bright side though, once you get this fuel pump problem solved it will be like you have a brand new car since everything else had already been replaced. My day hasn't been to bad because I haven't been anywhere. I do feel like H warmed over though because I've caught my daughters cold.
