Are Dell computers the best?  

I would agree that Dell XPS is the best laptop. I have an XPS and for a desktop computer I have Alienware. I guess I would say you get what you pay for.

As for laptops, I say buy a Dell or something like Alienware. For computers, I would recommend you build your own as this is the cheapest and best option. Why is this? Well you get to select the parts that you want (not what a company gives you) ensuring there are no weak links in your system. If you do not know much about computers, I recommend asking on a forum about what computer parts you would need to buy to fulfill your requirements.

well,i don't have a dell computor.but my fiends got one .it's very hot when you use it too long time. i have a lenovo it's prety good .and it works well for 4 years without any problem

Personally, I don't think Dell is the best. I recommend HP. Dell's keyboard feel not so good. And it's said that the tech is others', but service is Dell's. What Dell sell is service. HP has its own tech, and its service is quite good. What's more important, HP's heat distribution is the best. You can either choose Sony, IBM.

I agree with previous posts. For a laptop, stick with a Dell or Alienware. Remeber though that Alienware is now owned by Dell. If you are wanting a desktop, build your own. When you build a desktop through dell, you are forced to buy addons that you really do not need and you cannot always get the hardware you want. Building your own desktop is just too easy for you not to do it. You can get exactly what you want and nothing extra. This also helps keep the price down, especially if you get a good operating system like Debian Linux.

I'm not really sure. Dell is pretty good, but sonys' are too. Maybe dell is a little bit better.
