1. shar_25 (812) | 12 months ago | My favorite horror movie is "The Ring". Its the scariest movie I have seen so far. If you watch this movie at home in a DVD you may not find it that frightening. The impact is 1000 times more when you watch the same movie in a theater. I have watched "The Ring" a lot of times, but when I watched it for the first time in the theater, I literally kept my eyes closed every two minutes for the entire second half of the movie. "The Ring II" is equally good, but I watched the movie at home so didn't find it that scary at that point

I know it's nothing for those who love really scare horror movie. But it was full of scary scenes.. Well, I can still watch it through until the end without breath. When the movie just ended, I finally found the beauty of it. It was so fun to accept a different role of Johnny Depp. But I still don't like the scene of the death tree, beneath and in the tree root it's full of dead heads..That's kind of disgusting if you first see it. When it was this year's halloween day I watched " Men In Black". I think it's kind of funny when the alien hides into the man's skin...ah..isn't that odd? I used to hate those because I can't accept. Maybe somedays I would have nerve to watch those really scary Japan movie and laugh about them... it's amazing to feel my change...

3. lazeebee (4520) | 12 months ago | I used to enjoy the Nightmare on Elm Street & Friday the 13th series; however I later found that the Asian horror shows are even scarier! I've seen the Japanese and Korean horror movies like The Ring, Dark Water, The Grudge and others - very creepy! I can't rate any as favorite; I seem to like most of them.

4. modstar (4959) | 12 months ago | Nothing scares me more than "The Exorcist". It's still scares me to death eventhough i've seen the movie years and years ago. It's the most disturbing movie for me. It keeps giving me nightmares whenever i'm in a dark place. It gives me chills hehe.. I've seen a lot of horror movies but this one scares me the most. I don't know if i have the guts to watch "The Exorcist" again.

6. crimsonladybug (1897) | 12 months ago | Everyone talks about how scary the Ring and The Grudge were and how the original Japanese versions are scarier still. I haven't been able to get anything out of the Asian horror phenomenon...the originals or the remakes. The Eye with Jessica Alba was good but that's about it.
My favorites are the older ones. Halloween 1 & 2 were terrific. Carrie, Firestarter, Rosemary's Baby, Hush Hush Sweet Charlotte. I also really liked the original Saw and 2 wasn't bad but the rest of them are just blood and gore for the sake of blood and gore. The plots have been the same thing over and over.
I am on a constant quest to find a horror movie that makes me have to sleep with the lights on. I haven't found it yet.

8. Dumpertaker (464) | 12 months ago | I've not seen a really good horror movie in a very long time! Ju-On (The Grudge) is pretty good, but the Japanese seem to know how to make something that messes with your mind, which is always good.
Aside from the Japanese, I remember the first time I saw A Nightmare On Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw Massacre (the original, not the awful remake), Halloween, Driller Killer, I Spit On Your Grave...nothing really compares to that kinda thing anymore, but perhaps that is because these days most people are "desensitized" to violence.
