What you prefear? a note book or a desktop? i like both...  

i prefer to use a desktop, martianwomen. although i also have a notebook, i hardly use it. i prefer that my keyboard comes in separately from the monitor. so the monitor stays farther away from me than that of the keyboard. typing becomes much easier for me to do this way.

I prefer a notebook as well, martianwomen. I like the ease of being able to carry it wherever I go, as well as the comfort of using it.

Hi there. I agree with you. A laptop/notebook is really comfortable to use - you can just sit in bed whilst you surf the internet for example. A desktop sort of forces you to get in to 'work mode' and so it is more sensible to sit at a desk when wanting to do some serious work

I have both. I prefer my laptop computer. I can take it with me everywhere I go. I let the kids work on the desktop. That keeps them off of my laptop.

I used to love my desktop because it's my only gaming machine. However, after getting my Sony PlayStation 3, I hardly touch my problematic desktop anymore. My current company laptop has a better specification than my desktop and it is more convenient for me to use the laptop anywhere. Nowadays, after work, I will just place my laptop in my living room and watch the TV with my family while going online. And when I go back to my hometown or second home, I can just bring my laptop and the documents inside together. That's why it's more convenient for me. In fact, I was looking for a new personal laptop before this but decided to give up due to the recession.

i think to use for more stuff like this i would just use a notebook(laptop) but for work and office i think desktops are better as it looks standard and you can still and do work becuase you cant work properly lying down. and some laptops have problems like if you close it by accident it good to sleep with is a bit p**S taking some times!

I think looking at computer performance wise desktop computers are the best. You can upgrade its hardware easily and comparatively they are cheaper. Like if you are not satisfied with the video support card you can easily change it.

Notebook computers have the main advantage of being portable. You can use them anywhere easily and you can use them relaxingly. But they have some disadvantages like they are expensive, they are more sensitive, all parts cannot be upgraded and also the repairs are very expensive. I think we should have a notebook as well as a desktop PC so that we can take the advantage of both. Be happy

I prefer using a desktop since almost everything that I need when I'm on the Internet is then close at hand. I have a laptop that I use for travel or with a capture device that I have to capture something I have recorded on my vcr; it would be too much trouble to take the vcr to the desktop but it is relatively easy to take the laptop to the vcr. After I capture something on the laptop, I can then transfer it to the desktop with a flash drive. But I don't capture stuff very often, so what happens is that I rarely use the laptop.

i mean the best part is tht i can take it to the university
