wt digital camera to buy?

I guess it all depends on what you want to spend and what you want to use it for...I have a small digital camera which I carry with me all the time, I went for an Olympus SP-350 and it is great, it has 8 megpix which is good but I was taking photos of bands and such and i found these cameras have a slight delay even with the red eye feature turned off so I went and bought a really good camera a DSLR which is a big camera with inter-changeable lenes and and filters, I went for a Canon here and I love it, I would never have bought the little one if I had have known how good a DSLR is...write a list of what you want in a camera as they basically all have the same features really and they are all good, write down your budget and i thin k it is best to go to a camera store and see if they can even do you a good deal... Hey there go to Ciao.com and see what camera suits your needs. We all have different tastes and it's hard to give a suggestion from my own perspective.

I am not a professional photographer, but an enthusiast to photography world and being one of the member in PhotoClub during my past time. Actually, there are two considerations when buying a new camera, the types; 'Media' and 'Battery'.

Media Type: There are lots of media types available for cameras, such as CompactFlash, SecureMedia, etc. Because of my previous purchases of CompactFlash cards that I used in older cameras, if upgrading, I would not want to purchase a camera that used a different type of memory unless its other features far outweighed those of competing cameras. Memory prices are going down, but cards are still not cheap and I don't want to 'throw away' this media investment when upgrading.

Some cameras are realizing that not everyone wants to use their manufacturer's proprietary media format. For example, the upcoming (at the time of this tip's writing) Sony Cyber-shot DSC-F828 uses Sony's Memory Stick format, but this digital camera also supports CompactFlash and MicroDrives.

Battery Type: If you currently use rechargeable batteries, factor into your purchasing decision whether or not your 'dream' camera supports the same types of batteries. I own six or seven sets of AA NiMH rechargeable batteries and would be very weary of purchasing a camera that had its own custom battery type. Of course, if the digital camera offered double the megapixels, a wider zoom lens, and better quality photos, I might reconsider.

I have an inexpensive Samsung which does everything I need it to. I'm just a casual photographer, so I didn't look for extras. Look for as high a megapixel rating as you can afford. That's what makes the pictures clear. I got one with a battery so I wouldn't have to depend on the computer to recharge it, but that option depends on your situation. Recharging with the computer is cheaper than batteries.
If I were you (and this is what I did) I'd go to the internet and read up on the different ones until you felt confident enough to make your own choice.

When it comes to electronics then I'm totally into Sony. I really love this brand and I have had just good experience with this brand so I"m really into it. I have bought Sony cybershot DSC-n2. I bought it a year back and it's still giving it's best function till today. It's 10 MP so it's pretty good for me apart from that it has different functions like internal memory of 17 mb which helps alot when the memory card is full. The pictures are also fantastic with the different mode to capture the picture.
These days there's a new camera of sony with the smile mode.
I think you should try out.

I just bought a SONY W170 because it's very cheap and takes great pictures. I also love that it has the longest battery life compared to other cameras I've eyed. I think Canon's really popular but in my area it's so expensive so I had to not look at it. It looked a lot better and slimmer than my Sony though. Olympus and Foxconn aren't on my list. Do check out Panasonic's line. They have great cameras at great prices with superb features. In terms of features, I only look for the image stabilization and batt life. You should do a lot of research before you commit to one camera.

Well it depends on your budget, if you have enough money, i would suggest you go for canon brand it is not very expensive like sony but it has superb quality and i already tried it i recommend G10 model, it is like you are a professional photographer, i am planning to buy it but i still have to generate fund, i just barrow my friends camera, i can only say amazing digital camera. But if you need cheaper digicam but still good in quality i would suggest sumsung digicam for they have affordable cameras with great quality also. But still it is always up to you, Always go for the quality pictures not the brand. And search it on the net about digicam so you will know what you need. Happy holidays

If you can really afford it, I think you can consider either the Nikon or Canon.

Also, you should consider getting a model that can let you have the highest resolution and interchangeable lenses. I am sure that at some point of time you will want to take more advance and challenging photos, so you should get one that can accommodate your future demands.

Don't be mistaken that I am against those simple point and shoot cameras, but my consideration is for the distant future.
