Aren't you tired of New Year's Resolutions that weren't realized at the end of the year? Don't be discouraged, there's still hope... Now here are the ways that can help you realize those resolutions and end those frustrating falterings once and for all...

I came across this article in Cosmopolitan Philippines' January 2008 issue and I've been following these tips religiously ever since. They've worked for me, so let me know if they worked for you as well! Happy New Year everyone!!!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Bye-Bye Resolutions:
I promise. . .

Often, what starts out as a rigid set of new-you rules, becomes a frustrated list of so-did-not-happen wishes by year-end. This year, we're starting 2008 right by ditching resolutions. Yes, you heard us right. We're trying a new strategy to getting the body, career, and love life we want: enough of "stopping" a vice or "losing" a habit. Instead, we're reformulating our 2009 pledges for the better.
Here are some ways to make New-Year oaths that actually work:

*BE POSTIVE. Instead of vowing to stay away from certain things, word your resolutions as positive pulls towards the good you want to achieve. Instead of "lose weight," for example, say "be bikini-sexy." It's more motivating that way.

*MAKE IT CLEAR. Resolutions often fail because people make them so vague, that it's hard for a follow-through. So, make it a point to make yours clear. Frame your promise as a change in concrete behavior, as in "go to the gym 4 times a week," so you'll know if you're on track.

*GIVE IT A BACKBONE. Resolutions without commitment are empty promises. So, examine the reasons behind each pledge. Why do you want it? Why is now the time to do it? Your answers to these questions can help you stick to your goal.

Happy New Year to all and may these tips help all of you to achieve the life you've always wanted! xoxo
