What else can any human being do in the face of hard times but to strive harder in achieving the comfort of life. World class human beings turn their wounds into wisdom. All past years failures could bring us closer to success. The possibilities are there for us to venture further despite the hard times. Hopefully 2009 will bring a better life for us.

I face the loss of my partner of 40 years and given this 'news' just before the Holiday season so forgive me if I sound uncaring about the World!
I wish everyone Happiness in their lives and a better future for the World but 2009 is never going to be a year I'll want to remember!

So sorry to hear this bad news. We have to accept that death is an inevitable process of this world. As long as we live in this world, problems and troubles will always be a part and parcel of human experience. Our life is a continuous journey beset with problems.

I see the humorous side of you in your youth and what a comical way to usher a new year. I still have my humor and my fun zandi, and I'm sure you do too, even as we enjoy mylotting and the friendships we acquire here. Truth is that the circle of life comes in many shades and is not so perfectly round, and the beat goes on.
You know what's funny...at this time of the year, I can never help but remember an old lady I once knew, whose "signature" was "Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with me". Problem is, that she was one of the meanest people I've ever met and treated everybody else badly!
I guess she must have meant something else.
May we always be able to find some humor in every day.

We are happiest when we feel connected to others - when we are part of a community here in mylot. So keep on mylotting. As we go along we establish the bond of friendships and we communicate and learn from each other. That is a cure for aging that no one talks about. It's called learning.

I so wish to enjoy my existing good health for this year and many more years to come. Hopefully you are also in the best of health.

We all welcome the new year with high hope and hope this year brings more happiness and fun. There's no point to be successful but sad. Makes no sense. Yes, reach for the mountaintop. But enjoy the climb as well. I agree with you, as long as human are alive we should celebrate the different benchmarks. Life is certainly full of material pleasures that really do make the journey more delightful.
