Do you believe letter writing is a lost art?

Remember when writing and receiving letters was a fond way of communicating, and a sentimental way of preserving memories? If you don't remember this, I'm sure you've heard others speak of the topic. Letter writing, to me, is a way of staying connected to the "writer" in me and, in some ways, the "artist" as well. What do you think? When was the last time you've sat down to write a letter? When is the last time you've received a letter?

The last time i wrote a letter was about a year and a half ago to my long distance friends. Now we just use instant messenger to communicate since we are on pretty often. Writing letters was fun but being able to type out what you think and let the person know straight away is more appealing. Well i've written enough letters to not miss it.

I love writing letters. To be honest, I love writing letters more than I type with the computer, but for the efficiency and the speed I think it would be better for me to send e-mails than snail mails. But I still making letters once in a while for my partner because I believe she likes it.
I love writing letters, and as you have said, it could be the lost art, because... you know, while you were writing letters, there is a personal touch that couldn't be replaced even with the e-mail signature or anything in the e-mails.
Handwriting always represents something in the letters so I believe that the letters would be more valuable than e-mails.
