I have no idea what to do.... |
|
We have a vehicle that won't pass inspection and we can't afford $500 to get it fixed. We think we want to just sell it. I have no idea how to get attention to the vehicle (considering we can't drive it, without inspection). We have it parked in our driveway and will put a for sale sign on it but we don't get much traffic on our street. Does anyone know any online sites that we can post it on to try to sell it? If so, how does the site work? Does it cost anything to post things for sale? We don't have the money to list it in our local paper, otherwise we'd do that. Thanks in advance.

2. kerriannc (3233) | 1 year ago | Camomom it is best if you google and search for the information you need. There are sites that will charge money as well as there are ones that they will be a mark up inside the sales price you want. Just google I have learnt alot by googling and finding the information that I need.

camomom (3539) | 1 year ago | I don't know about a bargain paper but I think we do. I have no idea how much placing an ad would cost through the one I'm thinking of. I think I am going to try craigslist. I didn't think about the flyers, some grocery stores around here have public bulletin boards. Thanks sweetheart

7. Rosekitty (4803) | 1 year ago | Camomom..sorry never saw your discussions..went to eat and now i'm here..
I had a truch that was going to take more than it was worth to pass inspections so each year i knew someone that would do the inspection for me since i guess some go by the book and some don't or aren't as strict..if you know anyone like that then I'd do that until you sell it if you'd like to keep it.. huggs

camomom (3539) | 1 year ago | We are still debating on whether to try to keep it or not. We do have another vehicle. We are also trying to move closer to his job, hopefully walking distance. We also want to see if the other vehicle will pass it's inspection next month and if it doesn't we'll keep the cheaper (in repairs) of the two. It's just a big mess right now. Luckily, I don't usually need a vehicle when he's not here so he's been driving mine. I wish I knew someone that would do the inspections for us and not be so strict but we don't. Thanks for the response.

8. ladym33 (5599) | 1 year ago | I have never used it, but I have heard great things about Craig's list, you may want to give it a try. Some neighborhood grocery stores will also let you post adds on a buletin board. You could check in to that too. Just post a nice picture of the car, and make little tabs with your phone number that interested people can pull off to call you. Also put the out the word to everyone you know that you have a car available, they might tell someone else and hopefully you can get it sold that way.

camomom (3539) | 1 year ago | Thanks. I'm planning on trying all of those things. Our other vehicle needs to be inspected next month so we decided to wait and see what happens there before selling. We'll keep the one that needs the cheapest work done and sell the other.
