I am so freaking blonde that even I find it difficult to deal with me!!  

I can't even tell you how stupid I felt or how frustrated at myself. It was a long 10hour shift and I just really, really wanted to get home. I knew the tail light was out and prayed I would not get stopped. I never have good luck so when I saw the blue lights and just grumbled...my luck. I guess I am lucky that he didn't hold me to see if I was drunk or something. Who knows how long I'd have been there then.

Ahhh...if you only knew. I do these sorts of things on a daily basis. I'm chuckling at it all now but at the time I was so mad at myself. I really did just desperatly want to get home. I went from being angry at my luck to being angry at myself and now I just am like...you idiot!

I'll share and even worse blunder. I was working for a city police department as a dispatcher on the night shift and I was late for work so I was speeding. Wouldn't you know it I got caught by a State Trooper. I knew I was caught so I pulled over before he even got a chance to turn around and come after me. I'm sitting there in my police uniform just wanting to disappear.

He gets up to my window and it turns out to be a Trooper I knew very well. He takes one look at me and says "Get to Work, but slow it down!" Of course that wasn't the end of it. When he came into our station to chat later when he was on his break he had to tell everyone that he'd caught me!

Now that is funny! Must of been a bit embarrassing at the time tho..huh? I can just picture it.

That's pretty funny. So I guess I am not the only one that does these types of things. Oh well, it keeps the cops entertained at least.

Oh don't do it. The luck is minimal and rare while the self-frustration is huge. I get myself into many many situations that end up costing me money more often than not. I just happened to luck out on this one. I am sorry that you had to pay the extra insurance costs. that does suck. Still, please heed my warning. If you dye your hair and try to be me, I'm sure you will quickly realize the error of your ways.

I have tried to get it fixed mechanic. I have dyed my hair brown countless times. It just doesn't work. I think I have blonde in my blood. Ya I work 2nd shift...10 hours and out of town so i am more than anxious to get home at the end of the shift. Hey...thanx for stopping by!

Thanx for that advice. I will do that. If it was just the light bulb, I could just change it but its something else causing it to continue to go out. It's going to cost at least 50.00 for the garage to even try to figure it out and depending on what it is...could run quite a bit more for parts and labor. I just don't have extra money right now. I will take your advice. And yes, I am so glad that it wasn't me he was after...phew!

I know it was. I have so many of these moments...just gotta laugh after a while. This morning I moved my car for the plow and suddenly thought of my shovel in my trunk and so jumped out to get that. Lugged it back to my apt. and cleaned my walkway. I went inside and proceeded to sit and have a coffee when it occured to me that I did not shut of my car. aaaahh! bundled back up and went down to the parking lot and sure enough. I am grateful that I thought of it at least or I could have run out of gas by the time I was ready to go back out again. Thank you for your kind words. I think you are right too. It isn't just the blondes. I am pretty noted for this sort of stuff tho. I do find the humour...if not at the moment, then afterwards. I have 4 daughters and I have always told them that I am going to write a book on these types of stories as there are so many between us all. Everytime one of us did something ditzy, I'd go...this ones going in the book. I actually have started a scrapbook entitled "The Book". One of my girls came across it and said, " OMG, We thought you were just kidding." I've kept notes and journals over the years. Maybe someday, I'll have the time to actually finish it. It will be just for them...who else would want it?

Yes, I truly lucked out on that one. I was mad at myself for the time spent on the side of the road....for no reason and well, I could have just gotten myself caught. So family does come in handy.....great cover-up. Do tell me...what is really in your trunk??
