I honestly thought everyone forgot about the movie lol
Not the movie itself,it was undoubtedly great but I don't think that the idea of a sequel occured to anyone since the year when it came out. There's a lot of projects for movie makers that would probably mean more profits,also,Russell Crowe is not that young anymore and Joaquin Phoenix quit movies altogether

Gladiator is one of my favourite movies ever i think it's amazing! i really hope they do not make a sequel as i feel the movie ends in a good place as maximus has given rome back to the senate. i feel a sequel would be pointless its a stand alone film making a sequel would just be a blatant money grabbing attempt
also the 2 main characters, maximus and commadus are both dead
