High School Online! |
|
Now you can go through high school online in some cities. We are becoming more and more dependent on the internet and interact less and less outside of our computers. We can purchase things, meet people, and earn our education. What is your take on going to even high school online?

Anyway, we are becoming more dependent on the internet and technology. For the most part, I don't think it's a bad thing. After all, it would be cheaper (saving transport fees, book fees, generally education fees).
Then again, I don't think it would help develop skills in public speaking or presentations. This could make some students lose some self esteem and confidence. Which is extremely important. So once they venture out into the 'real world' I think it would be a lot harder, because they may not have those 'people-skills.'
I also don't think that High School Online would be good for people with short attention spans, or people who are bad at time management.

2. Samanthavv (823) | 1 year ago | I was homeschooled for at least half of my high school career due to some legal and harassment issues I was having at the public school. The courses I did were through Brigham Young University's correspondance program. I was given books with all of the information, and then tests at the end. The answers to the tests had to be entered online, but the majority of the class was paperwork. Personally, given my extremely volatile situation at the time, I think online courses were a GREAT thing for me.

3. savypat (7860) | 1 year ago | I understand your concern but for those of us who were bullied or just plain bored throughout our high school years I think on line would be wonderful. I hated high school and loved college so it would have been great for me.

Lore2009 (827) | 1 year ago | That is true... the question would end up becoming what the main purpose is for schooling, is it for social interactions or learning. I also hated high school and enjoyed college but the thing I liked about college was the interaction and watching people.

4. earthmother (338) | 1 year ago | i dont really like the idea... i think it's good for people who have a hard time moving or getting out the house and what not but i think people need to keep associating with people because that's the most important subject in school... people caues that's what we deal with in the real world...
