Just youtube it, mod. If I'm not mistaken, the credit really goes to us Pinoys. This trick has been going around Pinoy forums since 2005, when Pinoy gamers didn't have DVD drives to run pirated dvd-games.

well that is correct,but to be precise you can store 5 movies on a single dvd.so instead of burning 5 separate discs,i might as well get all movies in a single cd :)

1 dvd: 20 rs

5 blank cdrom : 50 rs :)

CD's and DVD's aren't all too expensive here so price wouldn't matter to me but I was just letting people know it can be done for those that do not want to fiddle with their cd-roms.

well its been close to around 3-4 months since i applied this trick on my cd-rom.

works fine for me,i did it out of necessity.was planning to buy a dvd-rom,but found this,tried it and voila!! it worked!

no problems till now..

if any problems do occur,well what do i say,might as well buy a new one :)

why they all have the dvd drives which is separate from the cd-rom drives!!

you mean the selling part? ok take an example..old times we had normal cd players,then came mp3 players,they were separate right..

you wont be knowing but changing the lens of the normal cd player makes it read mp3 cd's..

now you already have a cd rom which can read mp3 etc,minor tweak in the lens head,and it reads dvd's..

what do you expect companies to sell new drives if they tell people about the upgrade/trick??

go to your nearest electronic shop,if the guy is a a little smart,he will know about it.

normal windows media player 9< read dvd..else go for jet audio,divx etc.

no need to chenge the driver..
