Barack Obama Finally in the White House...... What Do You THink About IT???

Personally, I never thought I'd see this in my lifetime... an African-American taking the oath of office for the Presidency of the United States of America. I'm excited to be watching this historical event. I plan to record it on my DV-R for posterity to show my grandchildren. You know, I never thought I'd see the fall of Communism in the USSR or the fall of the Berlin Wall, so why not see this. I'm curious to see what he will be able to accomplish in his first term of office, but he has many people excited and hopeful for the first time in eight years. I wish him well. And I wish all Americans well.

Hi Mims, Welcome to myLot, I hope you will enjoy the time you spend here and make some friends and money. If you enjoy it here as much as I do you will probably stay for a very long time. Now to your discussion, it's clear that President Obama is a very intelligent man but he takes the reins of power at a very difficult period in history and people may be expecting more from him than he can realistically deliver. I did not expect to see the day when an Afro-American would become President and I believe that this is something that every American can be proud of whether they voted for him or not. It shows that they realize that the colour of your skin don't make the man or woman. I think he has some great ideas and I hope that people don't expect too much too soon. Give him time. Blessings.

I'm glad it's all finally over and he can get down to business. It's what he's wanted from the beginning. I can only imagine the pride he is feeling. Congratulations President Obama. You're in our prayers.

I never thought this day would come, but I am excited. More than the color of his skin, I think he will be a strong leader, and hopefully make some wonderful changes!

As long as you do not think that Obama is the messiah and will save the world, and that is because of his ethnic background, you will be all right. And if everyone decides to do what he wants, then there will be disappointments. There have been other leaders who were charismatic that went before and they did not make a beneficial effort. I do not think history is being made. I did hear that the media made sure that he was elected and that the black people who had not voted before now decided to vote. So I guess if there is any candidate who is either Irish American, Polish American, has red hair and green eyes, or is part Italian and part German, etc. that fact should determine how those Americans of those ethnic groups vote and if there is any that does not match the ethnic group they are interested in, they should stay home.

I think this is a great history that ever made in our lifetime. Welcome to mylot, I think he can make a change here and there just to heal the economy in the world. But what do you think anyway? Do you have the same thought as well?

I think this is a very wondeful thing, that has happen I Like the fact, that we have a new President in office NO More Bush,now we can get this country back on track but I know it is going to take a lot of time, President Obama said it was going to take time it may not even be done this year, but I am just glad we have President Obama.

As an African-American I was so excited. I watched the inauguration on TV. Then I went to an Obama celebratory poetry reading. Then I came home, I watched him dance at his last ball with Michelle and stayed up late writing as I was inspired by the poetry reading and the historical nature of the day.

I feel turned off by all this hype about Obama. I mean what the heck does that make any difference to people living in other corenr of globe. He is the president of United States not the whole WORLD. I am starting to feel hatred for this man by the way the media is portraying him. I dont give a damn about it unless I was an American.
