What are some of the things you do for the earth?  

I live in a city where we have two separate garbage collections - one is for regular garbage and one is for recyclable items. The council area has a recycling plant, so I always make sure I recycle everything I can think of.

We're also a couple of years into a drought, so we're living by enforced water restrictions. This means I try to use water from my rainwater tanks for gardens or washing the floors so I use as little water as possible. I have mulch on all my gardens so they require less water to stay healthy.

I have a compost bin for newspaper and garden clippings and also a worm farm for food scraps. The compost and castings from each of these means I have brilliant soil for growing my own fruit and vegetables.

I'm a member of an environmental group that grows trees from seedlings every year. When they're old enough we go out and plant them in areas that have suffered from bushfires or need re-forestation.

Compost, recycle, limit driving, limit electricity and water use, limit shopping and shop for used items, garden, plant plants, etc.

In my community we are carpooling to save money and to prevent gas emissions as well. I sometimes walk on my way to school, I turn off the refrigerator when I use the washing machine, I use a one wash fabric conditioner to save water =D
