What is the difference between KNOWLEDGE & WISDOM?

though it may seem that these two words are almost identical in meaning, dictionary tells not:

WISDOM is knowledge, understanding, experience, discretion, and intuitive understanding, along with the capacity to apply these qualities well towards finding solutions to problems. it is judicious and purposeful of knowledge that is valued in society. to some extent the terms wisdom and intelligence have similar and overlapping meanings. the status of wisdom or prudence as a virtue is recognized in cultural, philosophical and religious sources.

KNOWLEDGE on the other hand is defined as expertise, and skills acquired by a person though experience or education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject; what is known in a particular field or in total; facts and information or; awareness or familiarity gained by experience of a fact or situation.
