Got a Spider Bite today!!! Stinkin Creatures!! |
|
AARRGGHHHH!!!!!
I just got home from running errands this morning, and while putting things away, I thought God My arm hurts, got to looking at it in the area where your elbow is, the nice soft underside of it, is all nice and red and swollen and itchy, and sure enough it's a FRIGGIN SPIDER BITE!!!!! GGGRRRR!!!!!!!!!
I hate those things! Don't ask me where the darn thing came from or what kind of spider it was?? I rarely ever see them before they bite me!!!
I've had so many of these things over my lifetime I could spit "webs"!!!
If you've never yourself experienced a spider bite they are not fun, trust me;
I've also attached a photo of a great product I use for spider bites and so many more things, its called PRID... you can find it in your local pharmacy, you may have to ask for it as its usually behind the counter;
But once you start treating your bite with this, it draws out the poison and its just really really good stuff;
In fact I wrote an article on it on EHOW back in OCT?? somewhere around that time frame.
I already have the headache, no nausea yet but that will come probably after I eat dinner LOL!
mostly its a pain in the a$$$$$SSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!
A spider bite in January, now that's a first for me I think?? stupid darn creatures! I hate spiders!!

2. jerzgirl (2788) | 1 year ago | I am so afraid of spiders, I was once treed by a spider and my mother had to get a ladder to get me down because I wouldn't even come near its dead body. But, how can you tell a bite is a spider bite versus a centipede bite or a flea bite? I read your eHow article (briefly - just the fact it was talking about spiders creeped me out), but still don't think I could tell the difference.

dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | Hey Girlfriend: LOL! I had to laugh at your post, sorry but it struck me so funny as I'm still on a "fever rush" here; damn spider!!
here is my answer to your question on how I know its a spider bite;
for one I've had so many of them, and #2 its a chewed out looking hole they leave on your skin area and as it worsens from the poison it ( the chewed out hole) widens until its ready to start ozzing out its puss.. very nasty;
here is other comment on it;
A spider bite is not like most normal bites of other insects, a spider bite is a chewed out looking "hole" in your flesh, and it has red marks all around it to show its got a fever there, and so it is just a trip to say the least;
All afternoon I've been on this fever run from it, its a feeling of some sort of "high" one would have from a drug or other things;
My arm is swollen and not sure how much longer I'll be able to sit and or do any typing today or tomorrow??
I think I'll be posting this same comment as I read the other posts here;*(G)
but do be careful if you ever get one ok?
I hate spiders I really do and I hate this feverish spider "rush" I'm on too all afternoon while laying in bed having all sorts of crazy dreams....
not fun not fun at all!! woohoo ( cheap high for sure) painful one but cheap!
| |
|
|
jerzgirl (2788) | 1 year ago | Ah dreams - the kind that make good things happen when real life doesn't. I dreamt about Tom this morning. And, not MY Tom. Let me tell you, it was a very nice dream that felt so real (and, no, not THAT kind of dream). Just warm and fuzzy. Not like the spider nightmares I used to have before I moved away from home. Black widow spider nightmares where I'd see spiders covering me in the bed. God, how I hated those dreams. They stopped when I left home.
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | Ok Jerz; I'm lost, if not dreaming about your "Tom" then what Tom?? Yeah I'm dying off here of curiosity LOL!!
I was gonna post some more last night but my head hurt so bad and these stupid flashy ads on here were like triple bright and I just could not face the ad flashing blinking lights on here I know mylot needs them the advertisements but good grief those damn things drive me nuts sometimes, well ALL THE TIME!!!
| |
|
|
jerzgirl (2788) | 1 year ago | GF, have you forgotten so soon?? Tom - the unshaven Tom; Tom with the sky blue eyes; Tom who sings in the closet?? OUR Tom.
| |
|
|
|
jerzgirl (2788) | 1 year ago | Jan, jan, jan - what would Mr. Kiesche think if he knew you'd forgotten him that quickly. On the other hand, what would he think if he learned I dreamed about him, however innocent the dream. I'd probably stop getting emails from him, I'm sure.
| |

jerzgirl (2788) | 1 year ago | It WAS innocent. Sweet, yes. Lurid, no.

3. Katlady2 (4468) | 1 year ago | They're sneaky little critters aren't they? So far I've been lucky and haven't been bitten by one for years now (knocking on wood as I'm saying that). I don't like them either, and there are big ones around my house that will actually chase me as if they want me for lunch or something. LOL!

|
cynthiann (3182) | 1 year ago | If I lived somewhere where a spider chased me then I would move to another state. I am terrified of them, really terrified.
| |
|
|
Katlady2 (4468) | 1 year ago | That's why there's always a can of Raid, a big shovel and an even bigger baseball bat nearby. LOL
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | Hey Katlady; Yeah I hate the darn things, and no matter where it is I live or what I do outside, I draw them like magnets to me; I think this one must've been some how in my coat sleeve I've never had a bite in this area before stupid thing!
so I hope its either dead after biting me or is out of my coat sleeve I'll have to do a good inspection of my coat before putting it on tomorrow;
I hate those big nasty hairy looking spiders and there are some doozies here where I live now those I could see, first I shriek when I see one then I go after it with a shoe or broom or something to kill the darn things...(shudder)!!!!
be careful!!
| |
|
|
Katlady2 (4468) | 1 year ago | We have the big fuzzy black ones with the white spots on them....and those not so little suckers will actually JUMP at you! I swear they can fly. I've about given hubby a heart attack from screaming at one that was flying at my face! I hate those things with a passion!
| |
|
|
jerzgirl (2788) | 1 year ago | Wolf spiders! They're the bravest damn spiders I've ever seen. They'll turn and hiss at you if they think you're a threat!! Kind of reminds me of that poster that shows a a mouse flipping off an eagle just before the claws get him - one last act of bravado.
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | Yeah guys I hate those big wolf type spiders myself too!! they do get really threatening with us when we try to kill them (G)!!

5. winterose (17898) | 1 year ago | I never had a spider bite, there are not that many spiders around here, you should make sure that you are not allergic or the spider was poisonous, if you come down with a fever I don't think that is a good sign.
| |
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | HI Winterose: Yeah I guess maybe its too cold for them where you are??
I was bitten several years ago by one of those darn brown recluse spider's
I was sick as a dog for a few days on that one, and I was trying to care for my sick Mother at the time;
I did have to go to my doctor for antibiotics that spider bite was a 2 month process of trying to heal up my ankle area where it had bitten me and there was so much dead skin ( black dead skin) and puss and My Doctor agreed with me that the Prid was doing a good job of healing me but it took a good two months by the time it healed up like my other spider bites before, I had no scar or nothing, the prid had closed it all up nicely;
Love Prid!!!

6. highflyingxangel (9033) | 1 year ago | I really, really, really hate spiders. I don't think I've ever been biten by one and I really hope I haven't because that'd really gross me out. In fact, just reading this post about you being biten by a spider is making me all paranoid now about the possibility of being biten.
I really cannot stand them at all. I just wish they didn't exist. Creepy little things. I know people say they can't help it, they're just insects, that is bull. Creepy little things.
| |
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | HI Angel: Yeah I agree creepy nasty things I detest them too!
I rarely if ever see the darn things before they bite me but I seem to draw them out no matter where I live;
I guess when they see me, they think HEY BUFFET FOR SURE LOLOL!!!
I could be spider woman maybe??
don't dream about them tonight now, that would be bad, but if you ever do get bitten by one;
Get yourself some prid and if you get a high fever do go see your Doctor A.S.A.P.!!
and or do some research on them on the puter lots of helpful information out here;
I HATE SPIDERS!!

7. mechanicNOT62 (1590) | 1 year ago | At least you have the antidote, right? I'm glad about that. I had never heard of that product, so thanks. The only experience I've ever had with those creatures is when I was staying temporarily at a small apartment and every morning I would wake up with these funny marks on my neck, like a small vampire bite and it would just itch. I'm convinced it was a spider and I named it Vampire, but never saw it. Didn't do much harm as far as I know though.

dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | HI there Mechanic: I was gonna try to post some more last night but my head was hurting me so badly and these blasted blinking stinking ads on here were making me "Mental" LOL!! So I went to bed (G)!
Yeah this Prid really is good stuff for infections like that to draw out the puss and nasty stuff, its good for when you get thorns or splinters or bits of glass embedded in your skin it helps to draw it out, just make sure you put a big bandaid on the sore area the prid is like black axle grease (*G)!! Not good on stains on your clothes but it does wash out LOL!
Vampire bites huh?? ROTFL!! hmmm maybe you had bed bugs?? Have you seen that stuff on TV?? That's some scary sh!t now to see what we all are really sleeping with each night ( major shudder)!!

I wish there was a ( throw up emotion) on here LOLOL!!! I'd use that sucker all the time, HA!
Oh God I really really really hate TARANTULA'S! noooo thank you!
I used to always watch Fear FActor when it was on NBC, loved that show, BUT I swear to you I could not watch it when they had them damn Tarantula's on and covered people up with them.....IT JUST MADE ME CRAZY!!!
I don't care what they were paying for a prize!! NO THANKS!! I'd have to be out cold ( drugged up or knocked out) for someone to put them things on me, and if they did ( for a joke) and I woke up, GOD HELP THEM!!! LOL! GOD HELP THEM!

dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | Hi Kellyjeanne: Oh my goodness you had that many at one time?? Good grief!
well did you spit out webs after that?? (really shuddering)) at this thought!!
YEs I Love vitamin E I've never tried it on spider bites but after reading what you said I have no doubt it would in fact heal you right up and leave no scars, Prid does that too, heals up that hole the spiders chew on us and gets all that nasty stuff out, closes up the skin and Wa-La No scar!!
watch out for those darn spiders that's awful to get that many at one time, one bite at a time is plenty....but eewwwEEWWW!!!

9. OreoCookie3 (18831) | 1 year ago | I hate spider bites too. I lived in a duplex in 2000 that was infested with spiders. They seemed to hide in my bathtub drain and that stopper thingey where the leaver is to let the water out or to stop it up. One night I went to church and when I came back my bathtub was full of about a thousand spiderlings... oh*shiver me timbers!* I hate spiders. I'm lucky we don't have spiders here much.
| |
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | OH{{ OREO}}}! I think I would've made a new door opening If I had seen that in my tub and that many of them in there...LOL! I can hardly type for thinking of that image in my head UGH!!!
I don't think I'd ever get in the tub again or sleep in that place what did you do?
makes me shiver all over to think about that one, that's like a scene out of a horror movie, holy crap!!!
I still have the Heebie jeeebies thinking on this one...OMG!!

10. OceanTiara (2962) | 1 year ago | I am so sorry to hear that Jan, as I know how painful they can be...I have not had one myself, but have seen them..the bite of a brown recluse on a friend..not pretty and terrible scars. Yes, I remember PRID SALVE as I my Father used to use it for infections we had when we were small. Would you happen to know what kind of spider it was...? I truly hope you are not too affected by it and that you get the care you need and that it will go away fast. Hugs and Love and I hope the year gets better for you..it must, it simply must..poor Jan xoxox
| |
| |
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | Hi dear Tiara: How are you?? I've not heard from you in so long, how was your holidays??
I've been terribly busy myself trying to earn a dime daily...but I'm so glad you stopped by here;
no, I never saw the darn spider, just the after effects, it never takes long for it show up on my skin, with my crappy immune system ( I'm such a puss these days) so the swelling and redness are almost immediate on me, the headache, the fever, what a fever rush I had yesterday, crazy dreams and I just feel like I"m having such an out of body experience while my body fights the infection off, crazy I know.
I'm doing better today, gonna change my bandage here in a bit, and re doctor it up; but no fever today, so that's good; I've plenty of antibiotics around here too so I won't have to go see the doctor or nothing which is good (G)! I go enough as it is;
take care Love & huge hugs to you!!
| |
|
|
|
dreamweaverjan (1428) | 1 year ago | HI Tiara: No, I didn't go to the hospital or anything so no injections for me, just treated myself with my handy dandy PRID and a big bandaid and some other meds I had on hand here. Just call me Dr. Jan LOL!
