Size matters, but how big is too big?  |

 When we first got this computer a few years ago it had a much larger hard drive than our old one and I was confident that it wouldn't fill up. But, alas, it is getting too full and that makes it slower than it should be. I believe it is time to be thinking about a new hard drive and I am unsure as to which one I should get. There are some hard drives out there that are so large they almost boggle the brain. But, I wonder how crashable these extremely large drives are. So, I ask you this: How big is your hard drive? Have you ever had one of those 200GB hard drives and did it work well?

indeed. when i bought my first pc had a hard drive only 4gb!! can u imagine that..hade to uninstall programs so as to free space to install games! then i had a 40gb..now an 80gb..hmm never enough for me..day by day games requiring more n more..just played gears of war..requires 12gb of disk space..i also use to download a lot of movies and mp3 so i need much space..am planning to buy a 500gb soon.

2.  stmech0 (1384) | 12 months ago |  I had a packard bell a few years back with 2 250Gb hard drives and it was running at about 30% capacity, room for much more but it was a raid configuration and I lost my windows due to a fault in one of them.
The pc I have now is a budget one and I was worried about the hard drive only being 160Gigs, but to be honest it is only a little over 50% full now, even with a lot of downloaded software, nearly 2,000 music tracks and 18 full length movies.

4.  shiva529 (230) | 12 months ago |  hi, iam using 80gb hard disk...the size doesn,t matters in case of performance if you have optimal RAM memory for accessing the disk for example we should have atlest 256mb ram for 80gb disk.....i recommend to use segate hard disk and it is reilable with minimum crash of data...

5.  May2k8 (1410) | 12 months ago |  Size is not matters, i only have 20GB hard disk and my free space is only 200MB~_~. I have RAM 256MB, now i am using Maxtor 5400rpm. I change my monitor 5 times, it make me sad. Now i must have limited to use my monitor. My hard disk is still well, i use my hard disk around 5 years.

| 9. djemba (607) | 12 months ago |  When i bought my first computer it had a 40GB hard drive which is too less if you are into music as much as me..s for my new computer, i bought a 160 GB hard drive which is starting to fill up too..so just like you i am also planning on expanding or buying a new hard drive...I'd probably buy a Packard bell 250 GB...Now there are also external hard drives available for hundreds of GB's of data so you have another option
