5.  rsa101 (7434) | 11 months ago |  Yes here in my place although it is not declared a public holiday Local Chinese celebrate it still like it is Christmas. They clebrate with elaborate decorations and fireworks and firecrackers do blast all throughout the night till midnight. We also non Chinese seem to follow their traditions and belief as Chinese are very fond of lucky objects and many things to do when their new year arrives. So I guess our culture is slowly blending with their culture.

I am Chinese, and I am celebrating this big festival too. This is the first day of Chinese New Year, and most of the people will go and visit the relatives. Also, we just had the reunion dinner last night, it's a gathering for the whole family, where all the family members went home and had the dinner together on the New Year eve. It's a nice time to gather with relatives and friends.
