As a simpilton this makes total sense to you doesn't it?!!
Our dislike of the man has nothing to do with how he looks....it has to do with his policies....you know....how he voted on bills...how he is now running the country!
In other words...politics. Not how he looks!! Good grief!
He has several very suspicious people that have been his friends, his pastor and now some of his apointees for this great country.....THAT is what is the problem...not what he does or does not look like.
That is the real problem....people voted with their eyes instead of with their brains.
If he looked like a skin head and had tatoos and other questionable features we wouldn't have seen this kind of behavior from the hollywood elite and other impressionable people.
That and the idea that somehow because he was black and young he MUST be better than anyone else!!
That shows the ignorance of this country.....

I saw that pic too, it is funny. But I don't think Obama is going to turn into Bush. No way. The fact is, that in order to get things done in Washington, you have to make compromises. It's the way the game is played, and it's no different for Obama than any other President.

It reminded me of Conan O'Brien's bit about if two celebrities had a baby.

I don't see Obama as a conservative but I'd be happy to see him settle in the middle. Some issues we're facing need a conservative touch while others need a more liberal one. I was hoping the house and senate would have equaled out in the parties in the last election. Experience has told us giving them everything they want is not a good thing.

I guess since I uploaded it, I should put my thoughts in.
I had a multilayered purpose in doing so, FIrst, I just thought it was a neat morph photo, really well done, somehow, the two mens facial features worked well together for this type of digital art.
Second, the symbolism that although people voted for "change" we really didn't channge much of anything. All we did was change lanes on the same long highway. We voted in one of the same two parties we have been voting in for over a century. Really difficult in anything but the microcosm to call it anything resembling change.
Third, Is he a closet conservative or a republican mole? I have joked to that effect but no, he is a heart and soul democrat, no one need worry about that. But he has shown some traditional ideology, such as his personal view that marriage is a union between a man and a woman and that he believes (propperly so) that it is a matter for state law, not federal government.
Fourth, he is, despite his oposition to the Iraq war, still a bit of a hawk. He is fully supportive of the same policies as Bush in afgahnistan and in fact, we will probably see an increase in our military activity there and in Pakistan, he backed those words up with action the other day in fact with a drone air strike in wazeristan.
Over all, it was more or less symbolism that we didn't change much at all, we are still on the same slow drift away from our roots that we have been for quite a while now and from the principals of our founders and the spirit and letter of the constitution.
I notice your use of the words "hatred" and "hostility" in describing people who didn't vote for Obama. I feel the use of those words to be both exagerated and meladramtic. Most of us don't "hate" Obama, I personaly find much of his ideology of governence and his constitutional philosophy fundamentaly and profoundly flawed, but I do not "hate" the man. I believe him to be, like most of his non supporters here, a good and decent man who loves this country. I will critisize him very loudly when I feel his not governing by the constitution because that is where my first loyalty is, the constitution and this great federal republic it created. I do not swear loyalty to a political figure or government branch or office, I swear it to that sacred document and my country alone.

I just saw that picture and did a doubletake. It's actually a nice photo but that's about all. I didn't read much into it one way or another.

Bush was a conservative? I don't think so. He pretended to be a conservative but he wasn't a real conservative.
