how many times a day?  

I try to walk my two dogs everyday. They have a ton of energy and love to run around. Just past my neighborhood they have these huge open fields. It used to be a housing area but they tore them down a couple years ago. I take my dogs back there and let them off of their leashes. They run around for about an hour and have a blast.

My dog goes on a walk around the neighborhood twice a day every day. Then once a week she goes on a very long walk at the park.

A lot of people think that if they exercise their dog, they don't need to walk them. They think if they let their dog run around the yard or play at the dog park or something, then this exercise replaces a walk. This is not the case! Dogs do need exercise, but they need walks as well! Dogs have the desire to physically go somewhere and travel and they have that urge to go for walks. If this desire is not met, then it can make them anxious or frustrated. So even if you have a fenced in yard and let your dog run around all day getting lots of exercise, you still need to walk your dog!

our dogs will get walked about every three hours through out the day - their last walk is between 11pm and midnight and their first walk of the day is between 5 am and 6 am. They have to walk within a half hour of eatting or they mess. augh.
