What would you do?

Hmmm why would you be selling spells for profit anyway? That in itself is wrong. Never mind the fact of a love spell. But no way in hell I would do that.

I would NOT do the spell. For one, it's against the ethics, two, I'd be casting the spell and I'm not looking forward to creating a problem for someone that obviously is desparate and really just wants the attention. Eventually the novelty would wear off when the person started giving the other person a hard time and then they'd be bugging me continously with the problem. It's just not worth the money.

I don't think I would. First of all, I don't think I would need to sell spells. I just have to utter a spell that would help my business prosper or something. I wouldn't let anyone else know that I knew how to work with magic because that would put me in such difficult situations as you mentioned. It would be much simpler and effective if I could keep the magic to myself:)

While I would never sell a spell (my personal choice, I have no opinion on people charging a small fee for spells), I have done spells for friends. I let them participate, but I do not let them cast, lest they change the wording or dynamic of the spell. I will not do it if they have a specific person in mind, but I have done love spells for friends before. Spells that are designed not to make a person fall in love with another, but to bring love into a persons life. One friend that I did a spell for got a girl pregnant a couple of months after the spell was cast. He now has a daughter who is 10. He asked me recently if I was ever going to do another love spell for him. I told him his great love was standing next to him. He looked at me dumbfounded and I asked, "Could you ever love anyone more?"

If you're the one casting the spell, I'd say it's fine if it's something you're comfortable doing. If it's for them to cast... no. Because they probably have someone in mind.

I am not one to dictate what others should do. Personally I see spell craft as an art form AND a trade. I know a lot of current methodology and religious beliefs (We're in the wicca section right here after all) dictate that you shouldn't sell spells and magic because that cheapens it.

I have always disagreed with that.

However, one thing I do agree with is that it is not right to control the mind of another. For one.. you'd have to have an extremely potent divine or demonic connection to even try. Second you'd have to deal with the personal backlash from that. I don't ascribe to the rule of three.. but I do believe that your actions result in reactions that can be positive or negative for you.

A love spell is not really what you are talking about. When you speak of singling one person out and having them fall for another that is an infatuation spell.

They ARE possible, despite some people's beliefs..but to do so for money is a slippery slope, especially if the person infatuated fully takes to the subtle nudging from the spell and falls for the person intended..

If that person ends up being an abusive individual that all falls back on you.

It's best NOT to do it.
