BUTT, I Need To Exercise My Butt! |
Yea man, I really need to exercise my Butt! Got your attention? No kidding!
I'm looking at one of those exercise balls. Do any of you have and USE one of those? I really need something fun that will also cushion my bad back. I know that getting some weight off will help with my back. I'm not a skinny fanatic but I just need some toning and to lose about 30 pounds.
What I need is something fun that I don't get bored with. I've seen some use those exercise balls as computer chairs. Bounce and Type! Woohooo! What do you think? Would this work my legs and butt while cushioning my back?

Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | I have one of those strider things, but no room for it in the house. Also everything hurts my back. I have a congenital problem as well as several ruptured discs. I was trying to use my strider, the other day, and had to lean to one side. LOL! When my back gets bad, like this, I'm cantilevered to the left and walk with a limp. It's real attractive, kinda like Igor!
Everyone alway suggests yoga but it's so freakin BORING! Ya know?
Yea...I like that song. LOL!

I have some somewhere but to be honest it took me that long to get it them and made me so out of breath i got a workout before i'd even started lol

2. Carpathian (412) | 10 months ago | If you want to do that then go buy a Bouncy Ball that kids bounce on with the handle. Remember those in the 80's? Or, where you not alive in the 80's? Well, they are cheaper and do the same thing! Also, the twister. You stand or sit on this square board and twist back and forth. Their are a lot of old toy that exercise you and don't cost a fortune. Try them first! The Hula Hoop is great too. And, so is hop stock you jump stretch and you can have fun outside. Have fun!

Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | Nope, I have severe back problems and an twisting might put me in traction. LOL! Every time I try something I end up at the chiropractor. I'd love to be able to do something really fun and great. Walking is about the only thing that doesn't hurt me really badly, when my back gets into fits. A Hula Hoop? LOL! I'd be in the hospital. Sigh.............

Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | I have a really good dvd for my back, but it's so BORING! LOL! Yoga type stuff. I need something fun. Strengthening my abs is exactly what I need to help my back. Good to know, thanks.

4. 3cardmonte (1731) | 10 months ago | That works your stomach muscles more than your back as you use them for balance. I had one and its ok, not great but ok. Something that will make your butt and legs better is:you can stand or sit, but it has to be to the side, raise your leg slowly, hold for 5 and then lower. Or you can get one of those things that does it for you, you ca get ones that are like a pair of long shorts, they do your thighs and butt at the same time and you just have to wear them. They electricute you "gently", but they are good, plus they are very alluring!

Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | Working my abs is exactly what will help my back. So my back is not doing all of the support. Alluring electric shorts? What you been smoking?

5. thebohemianheart (2696) | 10 months ago | I think those balls are good for lots of body parts.
How is your back today, btw?
Hmmmm, second discussion about balls in the past 8 hours. Is this going to be a ballsy kind of week?*L*
Muuuaaaaahhhhhhh!

Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | It's some better, can't do much right now without making it worse. I want a bouncy ball. LOL! How are you?
| |
thebohemianheart (2696) | 10 months ago | Freezing and getting frustrated. Every time I try to add a certain key element into my picture, the program shuts down. I have been working on it since about 6:30 this morning, and it has happened like 10 times. It's just on that one part, too.
Oh well, never mind, he's not having a good day, either.
| |
Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | ARGH! You got any redos done yet? How frustrating. Wonder why it's doing that?
| |
thebohemianheart (2696) | 10 months ago | No, no completed redo's yet.
Do you still have the one I sent the other day? He said it looked kind of perverted. I had to go back in and look at it. I redid the chair because it really did look bad. Not on purpose, mind you, that's just the way it ended up.*L*
| |
thebohemianheart (2696) | 10 months ago | Look at the back of the chair, right by her head, the pinkish part of it. It looks kind of phallic.

thebohemianheart (2696) | 10 months ago | No, I saw it, too!*L*
Maybe I sent you a different one? I don't know*L*

| 7. CurlyRedII (73) | 10 months ago | Aww, I know all about weight back pain, if I gain even three pounds my back starts to go.
I used to have an exercise ball.. it had little nubs all over it. I didn't exercise with it much, I more or less laid on it and went Ahhhhh. It was a lovely shade of purple.
Exercise? Something fun that you don't get bored with? Do I really need to say what that would be:P.
| |
| |
Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | Looks like I might be getting a purple one too. I found a professional one that you can use all day. Not that I would but I think I might use it for my office chair and work my legs some. LOL! As fwid said, ya'll can try to interpret my typing mistakes. hee hee

8. plunketear (1221) | 10 months ago | If you decide to use a ball IF, i'd recommend one that is ribbed so there is a lesser chance of it slipping. Next, I would not look upon it as a weight-reduction device. At least initially. aamof you might gain some weight but will be in the right places. Why? Cuz muscle weighs more than any fat you might start to lose. Where? Your core muscles. And these are the ones that will help strengthen your bad back. The thing is tho....you need to start off VERY gradually, checking to ensure that you are doing only the most basic of movements that factor in a bad back and your symptoms. As it turns out, a ball is quite good for strenthening core muscles. BUT! It is very easy to overdo it when you first start out. I can't emphasize enough the importance of learning the movements that strengthen your core muscles, but with the knowledge of your particular back troubles. The you build gradually. Very gradually. As your core muscles become stronger, then not only will your back be better, but you will little by little be able to make more and more use of the ball as you expand your exercises.
| |
| |
plunketear (1221) | 10 months ago | and make sure you get the correct diameter for your height.
i checked one source, but you check too to see if these figures jive..
ball dia your height 55 cm - 4'11" - 5'4" 65 cm - 5'5" - 5'11" 75 cm - 6'0" - 6' 7" ya right...:)

10. walijo2008 (3605) | 10 months ago | I have no idea about using one of those exercise balls, I'd probably get on it and just roll off, theres a trick to using those without that happening...lol. I wished I could help you there but I can't. I myself use a walking DVD, and I use the weighted balls when I walk, I've lost 20 lbs. doing it, and I haven't got bored yet...
| |
| |
Irishfrndly65 (7250) | 10 months ago | You just walk in your living room or something? See I get so bored, my mind is going 90 MPH all the time. LOL!
| |
walijo2008 (3605) | 10 months ago | Yeah, I just walk in my living room, so I don't have an excuse not to exercise, like saying its too cold out, or its raining, I can walk anytime I want to, and the time goes by so fast that your done before you know it. I walk 2 miles a day in 30 mins. and I recently started walking 3 miles a day, in 45 mins. its the only thing I've found that I haven't gotten bored with. I had a treadmill, but I got bored with it after awhile, so I gave it to my mom..lol. I found these dvd's and been using them for a year now, I'm planning on losing another 20 lbs. this year...Her name is Leslie Sansone, the lady who does these videos, you can look up her website.
