BUTT, I Need To Exercise My Butt! |
|
Yea man, I really need to exercise my Butt! Got your attention? No kidding!
I'm looking at one of those exercise balls. Do any of you have and USE one of those? I really need something fun that will also cushion my bad back. I know that getting some weight off will help with my back. I'm not a skinny fanatic but I just need some toning and to lose about 30 pounds.
What I need is something fun that I don't get bored with. I've seen some use those exercise balls as computer chairs. Bounce and Type! Woohooo! What do you think? Would this work my legs and butt while cushioning my back?

11. rjscott (3074) | 11 months ago | I don't know about a bucking bouncing ball, Irish, but I DO know that when I have back problems (often), riding my bike works out the kinks.
At the very start, perhaps the first mile or two, it's somewhat uncomfortable, but all of a sudden the pain is gone and I can continue for many miles.
I just finished work and am about to go for a ride now. And my back started acting up this morning ... only a day after I learned that a dear friend was having back problems. (I wonder if they're communicable?)
Memo to self: On your way, RJ. The day's 'a wastin'. (C) 2009 RJScott

Yea, I'd love that thing but I think the ball is a bit more feasable for me for now. I told my man about it and so we will see, but would have to save up for it. LOL!

We took a step and laughed the pain off and took another step and laughed some more. It even hurt to pee. LOL! But...can't do that anymore.......

13. savak03 (2170) | 11 months ago | Boy, Irish I can really identify with you on this one. I had actually lost about 30 pounds before I moved up here with my daughter and I was so proud of myself. Now I have been up here for about six months and have gained 50 pounds. I was wondering why I was feeling so out of breath all of a sudden. Since I have a bad back too there is a lot of exercise that I can't do. even riding a stationary bike will pull my back out of place. Walking was about the only thing I could do without it causing too much damage, like you said, but now I've damaged my knee somehow and walking is very painful. In fact they are talking about knee surgery. So let me know if you find something that we can do while staying off our feet and that would be low impact and I will join you in an exercise club.

Irishfrndly65 (7326) | 11 months ago | Well I just placed my order for this ball. My chiro said that it should be ok, after this attack is over. I'm doing much better today. When I first had the ruptured discs I was out of work for 6 wks. Back then they told you to lay up, now they tell you not to. I know that laying up makes me worse. I've always had bad knees and weak ankles. But I can always walk, running is OUT, never been able to do that since I was young. I'll let you know how I like it. Remind me as I have a severe case of CRS too, k?;P

14. snowcat46 (1103) | 11 months ago | I'd be afraid of falling off!! That would hurt your back more. I have one of those balls. I did try to work on one, sort of... I kept rolling off. That wasn't fun, since I have a hard time getting back up!! After so many of those, I gave up. The dogs like pushing it around though. Have you tried dancing? Just sticking some music on and moving like you want to? Nobody's watching, so don't worry! Be happy! (Don't hit!)

Irishfrndly65 (7326) | 11 months ago | They say that you should let some air out if you are fallin off of it. LOL! I've been doing some researching. I'm going to try it and see how it goes. I know I'll have to take it slowly too.

16. glords (1434) | 11 months ago | Lol, I don't know if it exercises your butt, but they are great for situps. They kind of give you a little push... you'll do more situps then you ever thought you could.
Good luck with the weight loss... back pain is the pits.

17. stinge (463) | 11 months ago | Those exercise balls are okay. I think the stair climber is the best way to work your butt. It not only gives you a good lower body workout, but it gives you some real good cardio if you wanna loose a few pounds. But if you don't wanna spend money on a stair climber, or a gym membership, the exercise ball would be good along with a few excersise tapes or dvd's. I don't think the ball alone would help with toning up that much. It's mostly for your abbs.

Irishfrndly65 (7326) | 11 months ago | Can't do stair climber, bad knees. My abs is what I need cause that will help to support my back. I'm going to try it! I want a butt like Jennifer Biel! LOL! But I guess it's a bit too late for that. hee hee

19. redhotpogo (1175) | 11 months ago | I'm not really sure what the exercise balls do. Cardio is my guess. That will work if you're looking to get results by the time your in your 50s. Do squats. You don't need any weights, just do the squats.

redhotpogo (1175) | 11 months ago | most butt exercises involve use of your back. Only thing I can think of is just clenching your butt cheeks in and out, while listening to celine dion full blast in front of an open large window, in a pair of bright spandex shorts.
