would you allow your kids to use your computer?  

I do allow my kids to use my computer because it's how they learn. Instead of them going to other places and use the computer, it's better for them to be at home. At least I can see what they're doing and guide them to what they should do or what they shouldn't.

I will surely allow my kids to use PC.Because i am using PC since when 11 yers old and my parents allowed my and also they bought and gave me a PC for myself.i learned many things in internet using my pc.I have gained more knowledge.
So,if I am not leaving my kids it will be something unethical.And I will also teach them how to use the PC craetively so that they use it in right way and it will also prevent the PC getting damaged by them...

Yes. I and my grown up sons allow my grand sons and daughter to use our computers when we are not using. By giving them computer we make them learn how to use computers. At present they get some chance to use computer in school. Among 40 students they have only one computer. So they get very little time to get acquinted with computer. But at home and at our office, we allow all the three children to use computer and now they are able to use pc and also leptop. This will be of great help to them in future when they are grown up. Some one may feel that children may spoil the computer but I think this happens with edelts also when they use computer. After all it is machine and may get damaged. For that fear we should not stop our children to uae computer which will be their prosperity in future.

Well, it will all depend upon the age of the kid. If he is old enough to understand things (like not to damage the computer physically), then I find no problem in giving the control of my computer to the kid. But before doing that, I will make sure to take backup of all the necessary data. The ultimate damage that can be done by a child, by mistake, can be loss of data or corrupting softwares or operating systems. These damages are recoverable.
But when it comes to too young kids, I won't allow any to touch my computer, its because they damage the system physically. Recently, my 2 yr old nephew took out a lot of keys from my elder brother's notebook. This type of things I don't want to have with my computer!

Yes, but I would always see what they are doing or make sure that the computer will not allow pornographic sites... computer is very helpful to gain new knowledge though there are things that could be seen in the internet which could not be good for the kids as well..

Since my PC is the ONLY PC in the house, and it is in a "public" area (i.e. the living room) the kids do get to use it. They are not allowed to use it when I am not home, however. Not that I think they will harm the computer, but because I can't see where they are going or who they are talking to. I'm more worried about them getting to trouble online than causing my computer trouble.

I will. Much of what is done now is accomplished through computer. This also aids them in doing their homeworks. They could play as long as I limit the time. Usually,an hour a day on weekdays is fine but they can play all day on a Saturday.

Certainly I'd allow my kid to use the computer provided that the account is properly administered with internet harms.
Secondly it(computer) should be loaded with such a vast and entertaining information that kids would not have any time to think and search that what is located in the Hard Drive.

NOPE. Too many fat kids these days and they are usually addicted to technology want to stay home all the time instead of going out and be normal. I hate to see my child become a hermit it just isnt healthy. Plus its healthy to be more out and about these days anyhow.
